I want a new radio, and i use aircraft and heli. Will this radio work on boths, and will i have a range problem?

Yep sure will... the only different between the heli version and the AP version is the switch positions.
Now I have used many heli radios on planks but using plank radios on helis is not as fun. For helis you expect the swiitches to be in certain postions. For planks it is not as picky. Thus in my opinion if you fly both helis and planks it is easier to use a heli radio on a plank than the other way around.

I will agree 100% with that!
I bought the plane version to use with my Rex (the only one available in my area at the time) and I have to make a conscious effort to flip the idle up switch instead of the gear switch like I have learned on the sim (RealFlight 3.5).

i bought a dx7 air version, i cant find heli version here. and i couldnt risk buying from ebay or international.
anyway heli air differences is throttle rachet, switch positions and labels.
rachet is no problem, rubbing or installing a tube or turning the metal piece..
what i like to ask can i switch the position of the switchs, if yes which one goes where?
thanks.
