Lep motor choices 4S only please

Can I get a poll here of what your successful 4S setups are? I am running the Kora 15-14 with 24t pinion and since I put on the MAH CF blades, performance went to junk. My HS is 2600

So now I dont' know what to try out. The Kora 15-10? is that KV too high? I want to try to keep to my stock pinions...

Hacker? Hyperion?

I am really looking for that mega performance that the lep is known for.

Between turns, poles and KV, I am getting a bit confused... so,

what is your motor/pinion on 4S setup?

Hey Avatar, I use the Kora 12turn (910Kv) on Max amps 4K batts , 24 Revco pinion turning 3000Hs for the first 4min. I think 3k headspeed is the sweet spot for this bird. Sport flying will get u about 6min flight time. 3-4 Hard3d........Got my stuff from John @Readyheli :lolol

I don't know if my choices will work for you, but I love my Kora 15-14. I only use a 22 tooth pinion with the MAH blades (4s 3700 FP) and see a decent headspeed of 2700-2800.

This works fine for my type of flying (lightweight 3D) and I easily see 6 minutes flight time with zero issues. The Kora runs a good 20 degrees cooler (F) than my old Hacker A30-8XL (18 tooth pinion) and the same blades.

I don't know why your headspeed is so low. That pinion should spool up a lot more than 2600.

I have 2740 RPM with Kora 15-12, 22T pinion and 85% on Jazz 55-6-18. Batt is TP 3850. I had 100 more rpm when the batt was new.

I use the Hacker A30-10XL on 4S 3700 mah Hyperion cells with a 20 tooth RevCo pinion. My headspeed is set to 2000/2200/2400 at present. I fly more scale/fai than 3D and want to extend my flight times a bit more than the stock setup. With the stock 24 tooth pinion my headspeed was over 3000 RPM.

I ue the Kora 1512 900kV and love it! got it from John@ ReadyHeli. I use the revco 24 tooth pinion, with max amp 4000 and turn a 3000Head speed for the first 3 min of a six min flight! Motor comes in at 136 degrees putting back 3200mamps into batt. Lotsa power.

I don't know why your headspeed is so low. That pinion should spool up a lot more than 2600.

I have since installed the 15-12 with the 24t pinion and the thing pops like crazy now!

Anyone tried the 15-12 with the 26t pinion? Maybe too hot???

I have a 15-14 and 4S 3700mah - tried both 23T and 24T with a Jazz
It's better on 23T - but was not even close to 2900

You will overload the motor with the 26T. 24T is far enough. I had 2800+ with 65% on the Jazz on 4S.I'm now using 22T and 85% (2800 rpm too)

I am using a Castle 60 ESC and that headspeed is what my tachometer shows. It flies great.

CORRECTION - I tached it again using an older battery and am seeing 2700- 2800. I have revised my earlier post. Sorry for any confusion.

I could change to a 23 tooth pinion and boost the headspeed, but the heli flies very well as it is.
