It had to happen eventually. I finally planted my 600N today and have since torn it down for repair. What does everyone use to wash the parts to get the glow fuel off them? Im worried about attacking the plastic parts.

fwiw...

Use rubbing alcohol and 409..put about 4 tbs. in a pint of 70% rubbing..Works great, won't harm aluminum or plastic...Don't get it in bearings or electronics...

Does it simply degrease bearings which will need to be re oiled again?

I've used it to clean bearings, but a better choice is nitro car cleaner..

Back from my raptor days plenty of people are using denatured alcohol.
I haven't found it in canada though.

I like to keep a box of baby wipes in the flight box , the plastic box keeps the moisture in and the wipes are nice to give a quick wipedown after a flight. Keeps it cleaner between major cleanings.

The wipes have some type of a cleaner in them which does cut through nitro mess.
