So, last week the boyfriend and me ordered an Axe CP for me to hover with a little bit--just a lil starter. I waited all week and became VERY anxious to receive my heli---I could just see myself flying a lil baby helicopter. The minute we received it I called him (nitro burner) at work and started blabbing about how great I thought it was going to be. When he got in from work that night we discovered that the throttle was down on the radio and the heli was trying to take off. It was doing all kinds of weird stuff! The blades were trying to go around...the radio was popping...the tail blades were freaking out...so the next morning we called Tower Hobbies and they told us we could exchange my baby heli. I'm so disappointed..we sent it back by UPS this morning and it'll be around a week and a half before we get it back

has anyone else had probs out of this?
:(

The best info for the AXE is on another site,
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=610525&page=150
You will find all the answers you need about the AXE
The AXE is a great heli, it is a fun heli.
However, keep in mind that it is a $150.00 heli to learn how to fly on.
Be forewarned - it is a site for people who like to tinker around...if you get caught up in all the mods they do to it your going to spend more hundreds of dollars making it into something you can buy already made for less money.
The great thing about this heli is that doing the mods is like going to school, your going to learn a lot about heli's!
The 1st mod you can do for it is to buy a Lipo battery, the stock Nicad dies too quickly. This is a big improvement to it.Aside from that keep it stock and fly it until you know what your doing and move on to a better one.
Have fun!

Hi! Thanks. We've already purchased the Lipo battery and that's what I fly on, we've also made a few more minor adjustments. I didn't think I'd ever learn to hover but, so far so good...I haven't crashed yet...knock on wood. We paid around $200 for the Axe but, we've bought some stuff to add to it. I absolutely love it! Some people have told me that it's harder to learn on but I'd rather learn on something hard and then fly easy...hopefully I'll be hovering GOOD by next spring!

RCU has a good axe cp section. I learned on it (what I know anyhow). My suggestions are, buy plenty of spare main shafts, spindles, and blade grips. They are the most common broken parts. Oh, and blades. I went with the JCS plasti blades. They can take a beating, are heavier though. After you get passed the tip overs etc I would go back to the wooden blades.

Wheel collars on the flybar tame down the twitchiness of the cyclic and may help. You can also limit the cyclic by reducing throws. Breaking in the motors with the water trick may extend their lives.

Hello i have had the same problem. Only thing i didnt know any better and still was excited and tried to hoover it. I was very wrong it went crazy on me also and bent my boom and tore my rear motot off. I ordered parts and rebuilt it and tried again thinking it was me and it did it again. I took it to my hobby store where i purchased it and they reved it up and it was doing good and then it started twitching for no reason. It is heading back to the manufacture.

well my lil axe seems to be doing better now that we've got the new one...i haven't hovered it since around september...i've just been watching the guys fly :-)
however, i'm burning the sim up! gettin' pretty good!
i thought about just going to be supportive of my boyfriend and dropping the hobby but, it's something that we can enjoy as a couple and i really like learning...can't wait to see how much i progress this year! wish me luck :-)

Good luck! And keep at it! Doing this hobby together is one of the greatest things my husband and I can say we enjoy.

Now go out and kick their butts!
