Tail Gear Issue

I was using the brass tail drive gear with no problems, and upgraded to the steel gear when I bought some other parts. I replaced the tail drive gear and nothing else and my flight times dropped over a minute. I put the brass gear back on and flight times were back to normal. The brass gear has a small amount of backlash, the steel gear has none. Since this can't be adjusted I'll run the brass gear for now.

I saw another mention of the steel gear being larger than the brass gear on this forum, but this is proof for me the size difference is a problem. Anyone else notice this?

I am still runing brass as that came with my kit. no problems thus far now using the CNC gears from Adrian.
