I just finished triming my canopy with a razor hobby knife and it looks like shit! Then when trying to push in the rubber gromats one jump to the moon and is now lost!!!!

So I want to know what you guys are using to trim this *****. Any special technics?

I feel your pain on the canopy trimming. That is one aspect of a heli build that I don't enjoy. I have done three now, the E325 being the last, and I basically follow Finless's method shown in his T-Rex canopy trimming video. However, I like to use electrician's shears where I can - I trimmed the entire window portion with them, but I mainly use them to get holes (like airducts in the canopy, etc.) started on the thicker plastics. I'll start by cutting a small triangular hole in the center of the duct with an exacto knife just so i can get the shears in there, then I'll cut an X to the corners of the duct. That way, you're left with 4 triangles that can be bent back and forth after scribing away at the edges as shown in Finless's vid.

I'm sure it was harder than what Finless made it seem!
Took me about 2 hours for the E325. I scribed as shown in the vid, then used a scalpel and utility knife to slowly cut through and snapped the corners. Then cleaned up with scalpel, emery paper and round needle files. Hate those little nicks and slices when the knife slips, especially the one on my pinky.
Do you think the MT has a tougher shell than the Trex?

Yeah, I did the slow an tedious exacto thing myself. I made sure to have a new blade and then ever so pain stakingly just used a stab down and advance along technique. The canopy was too thick for me to just drag cut it.
Then to remove any small inperfections I used a small file. Fast gently strokes and I was able to make the cut edges look perfect.

I first used a small milling tool in the dremel to cut-out all big holes (with some overlength).
Then I used a bigger round grindstone to do the roundings and lines.
finished it with scraping the edges with a exacto and some fine sandpaper.

I really should use my dremel more :). I don' think the TT canopy is noticeably thicker than the Aligns. I remember both taking me what seemed like an eternity to trim.

Get a pair of curved lexan scissors. Dynamite makes a good set. Most r/c car shops have them.
