Ok excuse the ignorance, but my new 600N Pro is my first nitro anything.
And she was built by my LHS (I know, I should build myself... but I travel for a living and am not home enough to build)....

Anyway, how do I get the throttle to cut out when I am done flying. I tried flipping my Throttle Hold, but that doesn't kill the engine. What switch do you use? How do I program it? Can I just program it with Throttle hold?

Thanks in advance!!!

Joe

Although I am no pro on electric or nitro, I believe that the throttle linkage is supposed to be set up so that when you move the 'throttle trim' [on the transmitter] all the way down, it kills the engine...........

i am 99% sure that the jr9303 doesn't have a throttle cut feature (even though its a heli radio). i have yet to find it on mine and i was looking for the same thing.

you do not want to use throttle hold for your throttle cut b/c you want to be able to start in throttle hold and not risk having it at say full throttle when you first start and also when you walk out to the flight line with it. not to mention auto rotations.

instead, your 9303 has a non-digital throttle trim, if all linkages are setup right, you should be able to have the engine cut if the trim is all the way down.

driftinsequence is correct that the 9303 does not have a throttle kill switch. The design is to use the trim to kill your engine, and this works just fine.

However I wanted a throttle kill switch on my 9303 too (in addition to the standard throttle hold), so that I could kill the engine without removing my thumbs from the sticks. I find this useful for doing "True deadstick" autos (crowd pleaser), a quick way to kill the engine in the event of a crash, killing the engine at the end of a flight with the pitch still set to 0 etc.

The way I did it was to use the option to have 5 flight modes. If you enable 5 flight modes and use the Rudder D/R Switch to enable Idle up 3&4, then you set your throttle curve for flight mode 4 to be 0% in all 7 positions, then you can kill the engine by pulling both the Rudder D/R switch and the flight mode switch all the way towards you. Quick and easy, and without sacrificing your throttle hold function.

I hope that helps!

Check this one out, Copy from RR:

On the mix #3 menu set the following values:
1. Set master and slave to Thro.
2. Set Upper pos 1 value to -100.
3. Set "Ger" value to pos1
4. set offset to -120 to -140.
PS. make sure the gear switch is active in the system menu.
If you look at the monitor screen you will notice that once you pull on the gear switch, the throttle value goes back to slightly below idle setting which should kill the engine.

If you are wondering how this works, the 100% mix of thr->thr will set the throttle to zero (mid stick). However, setting the throttle to mid for any value above mid stick is not what we want, we want the value to be all the way down to approx -100 for any throttle value. The offset does the trick by moving the zero point down to where we want it. You can play with the offset value for a reliable kill value that does not bind.
