:( :(
Hi all!
I bought a hurricane last friday, finished it and today i want to flight
with that new heli.
I checked everything and start the motor. Rotor moves well and i gave pitch.
Suddenty the noise from the motor changed and the rotor get slower and slower. But the motor still rotate. Immediately motor off and check:
The "Steel One Way Gear Unit" is not a unit anymore. The cogwheel has no contact to the One way gear. It was glued on that part.
What do you think? Can i fix that by myself?
Regards from Austria!

Contact the dealer where you bought your Hurricane and ask for a replacement. That was a known problem and has since been fixed. Sounds like you might have got a Hurricane from the first batch and has been setting on the shelf.

Hi Carl!
Thanks for your reply. I´m sure, that my dealer will not have a sparepart
like this on stock.
Do you know, how GAUI fixed that problem? I think, my heli is not so old
from stock, because there is the new one way gear shaft (8mm) and
bearing installed. There is a seperate sheet with that information included.

Not to bad mouth but myself and a few others have strill had the newer units crack on us. I have been through a new 1 already.
I am having a friend of mine oil harden one for me and see how that goes.

That'a okay Bob. But I thought he said his slipped off and that he did not mention if the gear had cracked.
But you guys fly much harder than us newbies and that is also why I thought his problem was different.

If it slipped off I bet if he looks close there will be a crack somewhere between 2 teeth. Thats what happened to my original one and my replacement.

Hi!
Yes, in my case it just slipped off. I checked with tools if its broken. I did
that test with all the power i can. I sure, there is no crack in the cogwheel.
Bye the way: What do you think? Can i fix that with a bond like that?

The auto clutch is press fit into that gear. You shouldnt need anything to bond it but if you want to use green locktite.
If that bearing can be finger pressed into that gear (e.g. you dont need a vise etc) then I will bet you is has a hairline crack between 2 teeth you just have not spotted yet. Otherwise one of 2 things are wrong.
1) The auto bearing spun in the gear and has worn away the metal making it a loose fit. if thats the case toss it and order a new one
2) You got a bad manufacturered gear and the ID tollerances are too loose. Again toss it and order a new one.
The auto bearing HAS to be a tight press fit into that gear or it will slip on you! Bonding it is not going to be safe trust me.

Thank you Bob
I´m sure, it spun for several seconds, until i switch off the motor. I think, your suspicion is right. It is very easy with fingers to move the cogwheel on the auto gear.
Unfort. its very hard to get this sparepart anywhere in my country in the moment.
Bad day; isn´t it?

Yes that is a bummer for sure.....
Readyheli ships to Europe so you might order now from John. Subtrim.com may also and they are in Canada so try them too.
I would order a few extra's of these myself so your not down should it happen again.
