Ok excuse the ignorance, but my new 600N Pro is my first nitro anything.
And she was built by my LHS (I know, I should build myself... but I travel for a living and am not home enough to build)....

Anyway, how do I get the throttle to cut out when I am done flying. I tried flipping my Throttle Hold, but that doesn't kill the engine. What switch do you use? How do I program it? Can I just program it with Throttle hold?

Thanks in advance!!!

Joe

you can use the mechanical trim next to the left stick.. all the way down to the bottom or until the engine shuts off if the throttle linkage was set up right you should be able to do it that way

Or you can press list scroll to through the menu and select "Thro Trim" Select "Thro cut" and set the numbers below this to -12.00%

The %age would be the one that shuts the carb totally and not necessarily -12%.
With the throttle stick at low position the carb is at idle. The cut is ment to close it, but %age depends on your linkage. Don't set it so low the servo stalls.

But you need to activate that function as the captain states ;)

guys reading thru my manual on the JR 9303 it doesn't mention anything about a throttle cut it does however, it does have a mechanical throttle trim unless they've changed something the JR radio does not have a throttle cut option like the futaba and as far as i know it never did, but i could be mistaken my 9303 heli version is only a couple months old. like i said i read the manual cover to cover and didn't find anything that resembled a throttle cut switch just a hold switch and i have my hold switch set to another switch.
say that three times fast "wow"

Hmm, I cannot seem to find any program called THRO TRIM..... are you sure this is on a 9303?

there isn't one it's mechanical..... next to the left stick.... i have the same radio

So how I program the value to be below -12%? As the last post suggested?

when you move the slider next to the left stick if the throttle push rod is 90 degrees to the horns all you is just move the slider down until the engine shuts off. this slider should also be in the center of the range you can tell if its in the center by looking at you throttle curves and look @ the output under the expo you'll have an in and an out the out should be zero . so when your ready to shut the engine off just move the slider on the radio between the left stick and the radio power switch until the engine shuts off

Ok. what do you mean by " look @ the output under the expo you'll have an in and an out the out should be zero "

Is that a programming screen?

I ask because when I move the throttle trim lever all the way down when the stick is in the LOW position... my engine keeps running.....

ok you will need to use some sub trim on the low side of the throttle until the engine cuts off

How do you set sub trim just on the low side.... Wouldnt it be better to just increase the Travel on the low side?

travel on the low side should already be at 100 % to change sub trim on the low side go to your sub trim menu and select throttle move the rolling selector to the left there should be an L next to the value on throttle it starts at 0 when you move it to the left it goes to the low side (L) when you move it to the right it goes to the high side (H)

If you have the USA version you may not have "Thro cut" it may only be on the European version

Go watch John video on throttle setup using the DX7 radio. It should be about the same using the throttle trim and enabling throttle recovery.

I would prefer a switch myself but if the 9303 doesnt have it then you probably have to use the trim lever as everyone is telling you. Throttle recovery enables you to put the throttle trim back to center with ONE push up of the trim lever. This makes it easier to get back to center trim for your next start up.

THROTTLE CUT ON 9303
You can setup a throttle mix on AUX 2, Thats what I did. It pulls the throttle back a few % (the difference from idle to closed carb barrel). The best part about it is if you hit the throttle cut accidently while flying it only pulls it back that few % not kill the heli in flight. The only way the heli throttle will cut is if you are in normal mode AND your collective is all the way down. I even leave the trim in the center position.

lengthen pushrod and adjust atv on high side to compensate , I use wheels and drill my own hole to get true 90 degree set up , and 100 % atv's

the 9303 does not have a thrttle cut, and it doesn't need one. Thats one of the marketing things Futaba came up with to try to keep up ;)
Trim down, or even better: pinch off the fuel line and allow it to die.

It does if its a european one and it has a menu setting too

Press List, Thro Curve, and there are two numbers under the words exp off that is percentage of throttle.
That sounds like to me that you are not running a linear mechanical setup. With the slider at the bottom the carb should be fully closed. When the numbers say 50 you should be lined up with the middle line on the carb or half open barrel, and when it says 100 you should be wide open throttle. It is very important to set up your throttle mechanically so that your throttle curves are actually doing something and it makes a governor's job alot easier too.
