Dear Friends,

Get yourself ready for the biggest TREX 450 Event this side of the US.

The 2007 TREX 450 Classic. October 13 & 14. Tom Bass Park, Houston TX.

Two full days of competition, fun, food and flying! With two divisions: Novice and Expert. The top three finishers will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Trophies!

Registered Pilots will receive 2 free raffle tickets and one free lunch ticket for their day of competition. Registration fee of only $20! (Must have AMA membership to fly).

Align factory demo pilot Bert Kammerer will be there for flight demos. Alan Szabo Jr may be attending also.

The Novice Division will compete on Saturday, 10/13 and Expert Division on Sunday, 10/14. The Events:

* 5 Minute Freestyle 3-D Contest
* Musical Pylons
* Limbo Contest
* Autorotation Contest
* Drag Racing
* Flip and Roll Contest.

The Event rules and regulations will be posted shortly (this coming week) while they are finalized.

We will have raffle prizes that include parts, Blades, canopies, even including a TREX 450 V2 AND a TREX 450 SA!

NO B.S.... Note: This is tentative, but our event coordinator is saying he is 90% sure that one or both of these nationally known pilots will be attending.

They're going to be spending a lot of time in Texas in the next couple of months. First Mt. Pleasant and then Houston about a month later.

It's official. We now have one Align factory pilot committed to attend. Bert Kammerer will be there for flight demos. Alan Szabo Jr may attend, I will post more when we find out.

Yes, Bobby Jacks will be there. At the last fun fly that I saw him at... He had a hundred pounds of Trex 450 and 600 parts. Easily a small trailer full. No kidding.

Food, water, helicopter parts, electricity for charging, porta cans... I think we have it all covered. :thumbup:

I just received comms from Assurance. Alan Szabo Jr. will not be able to attend the 2007 TREX 450 Classic. However, we will have Bert Kammerer as our featured pilot. He and I are discussing a very death defying (for The TREX 450) feat. More to come at the event! Hope to see all of you out there.

Pilot check in on both days is 8:30-9:50AM. Event will run about 5-6hrs. With a number of side shows in between. Blade Stop autos, Expert pilot Bert Kammerer demo flights, lightest flyable trex, lipo destruction demo and more.

Saturday is Novice Competition – October 13th
“If you can hover inverted in all 4 directions - you are Expert. If not you’re a rookie and can fly Novice”

Sunday is Expert Competition – October 14th

Both these competitions are for everyone depending on your skill level. If you have questions on the contest just ask this will be the first time for many/most of us to ever compete. So ask questions.

Example: Be sure you can fly counterclockwise "left turns" for the musical pylon. The limbo contest will be setup at about aprox 3’ high with a ribbon and your score is based on how many times you fly under within 3 minutes. The limbo pole is not lowered like many of you have asked about. It may be lowered if there is a tie breaker needed. Many are concerned about the auto contest – no biggie just drop the event. There are 6 events and you get to drop one of them…

You still have 2 weeks to practice and to get your 450 in flying condition.

It truly was an honor to meet Bert Kammerer and see him fly. The highlight of my weekend was when Bert asked me if I wanted to come out on the flight line with him while he flew his Trex 600N.

What a cool weekend!!! I don't know where to start. Really good people, good flying, great weather... And TONS of top notch prizes. Zack from Curtis Youngblood was passing out Radix 325's like candy. They were appreciated with all of the crashing. :noteworthy

A special thanks to Bert Kammerer(ALIGN sponsored pilot) for some great demos. I could not help but notice that Bert has a HELIFREAK sticker on his radio case... Cool! :thumbup:

I'm going to keep this short. I've had a total of about six hours of sleep since Friday. I'm normally not this grumpy. :o

We WILL be back next year. For an inaugural event, we had a pretty good turn out. There were some great flyers out there. We had a lot of top notch prizes, that are just going to be more numerous next year.
