Push/Pull tail servo mount- when is it needed?

Looking at the thread on EB tail wagging, there is some discussion on the P/P tail servo mount- when is it recommended/needed? I have a JR 8700G servo and JR 500 gyro, would I need the upgrade?
What would be the minimum torque/speed servo needed to make the upgrade redundant? :hug:

It seems I have read, or heard that the push-pull setup wasn't recommended on the EB with the Futaba 401Gy. I have it on my Intrepid 60 just because it was offered. It took a little tweaking, but I have it working real smooth with no tail drift. Not sure if this helps, but I'm sure Chris, Gary, and others will chime in shortly.

FYI I have the Intrepid 90 kit, regular boom length. JR/ Spektrum radio.
