I've had my R50 Titan/Hyper 50 now for about 6 gallons of fuel. It's been great until a couple days ago. When I start it up the blades want to spin up almost like the clutch is sticking. I have to really hold on to the blades. The thing is that I can move the clutch bell, no binding on the clutch at all. When I come in and land with some speed on the blades the engine seems to race for a while almost like the clutch again is not letting go.

The thing is that I've had the motor and clutch out, checked all clearances and alignment, clutch liner wear, etc., etc. and everything looks ok.

Anyone have any ideas?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like the clutch gap was too wide and the shoes have sprung.

Examine the clutch. If the lines between the body and the shoe arent parallel then thats your problem. Replace the liner, take a new clutch and wrap two wraps of electrical tape around it, two pieces, butted end to end, not over lapping with one edge of the tape even with the top of the clutch. Place the clutch in the bell while the liner is drying (use 30 min epoxy or jbweld) and make sure to clean any excess adhesive that gets forced out at the top of the liner off the top of the bell before seating the clutch in there.
