View Full Version : Augusta, GA Invasion??

I've been thinking about it since Clint's B-day, and want to see what the response would be.
Our field outside Augusta could accomodate overnighters that are self contained, and it's possible to have two-three fields about 10 to 20 miles apart to fly at, one day one field. The smaller field with the least restrictions could accomodate four flight stations easily, with the others could accomodate 5 or 6.
If there is enough interest, I can contact the different clubs and get a date from them each and narrow it down.
We are about 1 hour from Statesboro, and Clemson/Anderson off I-20 at the GA/ SC border..
Lodging for motels is about 15 minutes, full hookup camper places 10- 15 minutes away.
thoughts?

When? The B'ham event in March kind of opens the flood gate for flying season, so,
you'd have to find a weekend that isn't already taken up by some other event. But, yeah, I'd be interested in driving to Augusta!

There's 3 of us up here in Hendersonville NC that would make the drive.

I cant wait dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, he spoke!
Guess I gotta teach him to introduce himself too!
This is Mike, my son. He's just earned the priveledge of flying his heli by improving his grades!
He's a good kid, but he can't keep his room clean...oh well, can't have everything. :D
More to the point, Mike has a hawk sport with woodies that he'll be learning on, eventually I expect him to be teaching me! So far he's gotten a tank and a half through it without bashing it, or wandering too far from where he started. You guys need to help me teach him before I ruin him.
