any body tried longer blade, like 550mm made for raptor 30, on EP550 hurricane? I'm planning to try it on mine using stock motor (850kv), stock esc, and 2200 mah lipo...
any experience on performance.. please advise/share
thanks -nubli

stock 850 kv motor and 2200's...with stock gearing, might be a little rough.
we are currently testing with rcp 550's and evolite 4250's with the longer boom.
adding 100mm disc to that head with stock pinions and gears with a smaller torque can might not end well...but honestly, get us some good video to watch when you do it...

I was running 550 tt woodies from a 30. They flew good and helped offset the tail heaviness but di generate more heat at the motor and lipo. Cut flight time by about a min compared to same batts and 500 stock blades. No damage to gears though. It did climbouts a little quicker and was definitely more stable but also had slower response. I have a 40-60-70-80-100 curve and w/ the 550's a quick drop of throttle to a bit of negative pitch was just scary. the heli dropped like a rock before i could blink. It didn't do that with the stock blades and same curves.

more heat to lipo & motor?? then ready heli is right... we need to change esc and bigger mah lipo and gears in order to use 550mm blade...
heavy on lipo also mean shorter life span
