Hey gang,

I meant to start from opening the box.... but these birds are so much ARF, that there isn't much to do in the building process. In the photos below, I have all the electronics mounted and ready (except for taking care of my wire routing) engine mounted, tail boom on and ready for blades and final setup. Not sure how much time is involved at this point, but not much at all. This really is a ARF kit.

Yes, definitely when the flying is done..... I have a hard enough time flying heli's without any "motion lotion" !!!

Ok gang,

I have the MAH 603 blades on, first setting of pitch looks good. I have as much as +15 positive to as much as -14 negative to work with..... mechanically. With the radio set at 100% on all ATV's, the pitch comes out to +10.5 and -10 degrees with a center stick set at 0 degree pitch. Looking good !!!! My cyclic looks good on the fore and aft which are running at 6.5 degrees aft and 7.0 degrees fore. My ailerons are a little more at 8 degrees left and 9 degrees right, I will have to tone these down a little, as I will probably bring the pitch down to +/- 10 degrees for Stunt modes.

Here are some photos, she is just about ready to fly. The wiring was dressed up by a neat little kit offered by Big Al's Hobby Supply (rcplyon). Check it out.

Hey Dan,

Yep, when the rain stops, she will get the flight test with your old engine. I am looking forward to the new power of a 50..... I've been flying 30 size machines since I started..... I have flown a friends 50 and hovered another friends Predator with YS80, but that is about it on the bigger machines. I can't wait !

Nice job on the setup Rob. ;)

I like to use the same type fuel filter/filler setup but the dang "O"ring doesn't last long on them. :(

Hi Nolan,

Yep, I love the little 3 way, but the o-ring is weak. I wonder if there is a replacement o-ring for it?

Thanks for the complements. It will fly this weekend..... even if it's cold out !

I haven't really looked hard for any yet but I'm sure there is something that's work better. I need to get on it as I have 3 of them needing O-rings now!

If it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all..... sound familiar???

Well, I was going to fly my new Stinger 50 today, but last night during the final setup of the beast, I put my swashplate leveling tool on my mainshaft and guess what...... forgetting it was there, I shoved full collective on the xmitter..... well, guess you can figure what happened next...... stripped servo gears..... so I called Big Al and he had a rebuild kit for the 811, but was on his way to Florence today for a swapmeet..... but my other flying buddy, Darren, came to the rescue. He loaned me a servo and after a little more time..... the beast (Stinger 50) is ready to fly...... now the only problem is the weather....... rain tonight and all day tomorrow....... so one day, the Stinger 50 will fly !!!

(how about that for a run-on sentence??? heheheee)
