The Hurrican 50 is the biggest shit box ever, I've had nothing but problems from the start !
The new Hurrican 50 X-treme is made from exactly the same quality metal... the only thing that will be an advantage to this bird is its weight.

Wow man that was a little steep.
Rusty provides great support, I dont fly any of his stuff, but post on a site he posts heavily on. If your having problems why not contact them instead of gripe about it on a fourm?

Dude sounds like you have some build problems or something. Maybe you should have some one that knows what they are doing take a look at it. I know for sure my hurrican is one of my best flying helis.

That's pretty surprising, I've been flying for RjXofUSA for 10 months now and have built 5 Hurricans and will be building the very first Xtreme that has come in the US tomorrow and find the quality of the model to be "TOP NOTCH" One of your own mates Phil helped RJX Hobby to design the new Xtreme, I believe he is hooked up with Takeoffandland a site that you have listed in your signature, have you reached out to Phil or anyone else there? I know that Take off and Land did a build thread on RR some time ago so there should be someone over there that could have assisted you with the Hurrican. We've also flown the Hurrican 50 Pro conversion and find that to be of the same Hi Quality as the Hurrican, no problems on this side of the pond.

Hey Chase,
The very first Silver Carbon Xtreme will be landing here at my doorstep tomorrow, I'll post some pics during the build. Sorry dude but all of Steven's Rotorworkz frames are in silver so it's become his trademark, finishing up his Hurrican swap to silver carbon in the morning as well, we'll have the silver fleet at IRCHA, are you going to make it this year, sure would be nice to have a pair of silver Hurricans sitting there.

Clyde just do me one thing. Show a pic of all those silvers together. I have my frames back together, boom is mounted as weel as the engine. I need to get on the ball and order those main blocks so I can get the head together.

Hey guys,
Didn't mean for it to sound that steep. The heli looks nice and all, it's just the design and durablitly. Yeah I've talked to Phil before and yes he is now a fully RJX sponsored pilot in AUS. He just recently finished the final design of the frames and the first batch of 12 production line X-tremes have arrived in Perth. One has been built already and testing.

Dude have you crashed one of these things??? I dont want to sound like I am agging this on. But Ask Rusty. I prob had the crash of all crashes. Came in inverted full throttle and no control at about 150ft or so. The frames survived!!! along with a ton of other things.
Now if your talking about bad design becouse there is alot to put together for the frames. Well thats what you get with stacked frames.

I have personlly put my CF Hurrican in 3 times hard and I'm still flying the same air frame. the Hurrican can take a beating. When you start moving up into High End 3D machines like our Xtreme 50 a lot of weight is reduced to lighten up the machine for preformace and the weight reduction has to be taken from somewhere? But then again, he who is in serch of a 3D machine knows how to fly and doesn't do alot of crashing, it happens but not all the time. So if you want high end preformace you will have a heli that weighs less but might not take crashes as well.
This is why we sell differnet levels of helicopters ie Hurrican 50, Pro 50 and of course the Xtreme 50, Hurrican 50 for the beginner to Sport/intermediate/ 3D, Hurrican Pro 50 for the intermediate 3D and the Xtreme 50 for the advaced 3D pilot. This is how RjX of USA fits a heli to whom ever wants one. Enjoy

I was all set to buy the new Pro when it became available, but there was a guy doing some testing on the Pro machine with the programmable head at our local field. That machine had nothing but issues with bent spindles and then the flybar carrier stripped out on about the tenth flight or so and that thing came apart in the air. That is one crazy thing to see in person good thing the guy was flying way ou there when it happened, if that would have been close 3D stuff we would have been injured. The head had several issues from what I could see, the guy seemed to work on it more than fly it. I am going with caleb R. on this one We are talking really cheap, weak, aluminum in the head, main shaft, and flybar assembly. So after seeing all of that, I bought my (2) T-rex 600N's and never looked back. Just be careful around RJX's demo stand back from the flight line, I know I would

I just have to see it for myself. I have a 007 that I love. Flys great untill I had a lockout. But I plan on putting the extreme head on it. Just to give it that little more edge. I keep ya posted on my thoughts.
But again I havent had any problems out of my hurrican or RJX they been great support on anything I have for them.

Thankyou mate.
For of you who ask if I have crashed it or not... YES 'it' has crashed due to many faults in the heli. I'll 2nd what Eric mentioned about all the head being a rather weak aluminium and bolts stripping etc. To be honest I only had 3 half descent flights with the machine and that was when there was NO wear and tear involved AT that stage (first few flights). The X-treme is being sent to me a replacement, due to it being lighter Toby from takeoffandland thinks that it will suit my flying style better (hard 3D). I will be doing a build review etc... ONLY if I see that ALL the quality in this new machine is different. Otherwise Ebay it is and on with the 600N's.

on about the tenth flight or so and that thing came apart in the air.
eric268, I also know the person very well and we are friends and I now have that machine sitting in my hobby room, I know you were at the field video taping the flight which I have a copy of, also he is a very safe (not in your face) flyer as is my son, one of RJX's team pilots.
In the last week at our field I witnessed an Evo 50 and a T-Rex 600N go in, things happen, just the nature of the beast with these things.

no 3d pilot here but, been slowly putting my Hurricane I got from Rusty together. and so far no complaints,
nor do I expect to make any. this machine seems proper and well put together. I was fortunate enough to get some alloy parts with it and they are awesomely made. with proper care and maintanance,
I expect to fly this bird soon and I expected to fly for a long time. this is the kinda of confidence this machine has given me.
Very happy to have gotten this hurricane, no problems here.

I have been flying my Hurrican 50 for some time now, even before Caleb got his. A couple of weeks ago I let a more experienced Pilot have a fly - he had it inverted 1 to 2 feet off the ground and dumb thumbed it - BANG! hovering speed inverted into the ground. We were fine tuning it for me to do some 3D with it - and had it running sweet. I have been progressing well with the Hurrican - using it to teach myself 3D with it, and are quite comfortable with doing loop's and rolls now and getting on to some other manouvers.
The main shaft was bent in 3 directions, tail boom was only just bent - supports survived - I had to replace all 3 main shaft bearing, blades and not much else. Frames were perfect.
The only thing I had issue's with was getting the centre bearing out. It has a pin that you connect the canopy mount too that I had loctited into the bearing alloy frame - I could not get this out and then punched the bearing out still in the frame, and re-insterted it without damaging the frame.. It is very strong..
This is the Hurrican 50's first crash - I have never had any issue's with it at all - My other Heli's hardly get flown - I use this as my main machine...
How have other people found it ?
