Just wanted to give kudos to a very well designed kit.

I've flown Heli's and planes and I'm not great at either. this was my first Multi Rotor to build or fly.

I put this guy together today in a few hours, and wow really cool, the quality of the hardware far exceeds anything I've ever built I wish Align Hardware was this high quality

only got a few flights in, but wanted to pass thins along to anyone that is considering this kit.

If I can do it you can! I finished up the lights after dark, well Duh makes sense to me, go fly!

I have never flown in the dark before - Ever - and it was a breeze can't wait to do more.

Got the GPS module on preorder!

Flame Wheel F450
Naza
Hitec A9 with Optima7
LED's with a separate BEC

Very nicely done DJI

Thanks GSO,

Actually I used to make all the adapters but I've gotten lazy and just bought that one.

I got about 4.5 min. from a single 2200 mAh so I'll se here in a bit what I get with two.

I had to send me 4-at-a-time battery charger off for repair so I'm back to my backup single charger, man I miss my other one......

once I wake up a bit and do a few honey-do's I'll have a bunch of play time so we will see, this is my first multi-rotor and I really like it so far.

I've been looking at the go-pros they seem to be the best bang for the buck, I have a cheapo stick camera from HK I'm going to toss on it today and see if it can produce anything worth watching.

I bought some 9x6E APC props need to get them balanced and fitted for backups.

Looks like everyone likes the Grapners the best.... I'll keep experimenting and see what happens!

That is not a lot of time on a 2200mh battery, I am getting 8-9 minutes with some 2830 1100kv motors on GemFan 9x4.7 props and I prefer them to the Groupners, 75 cents for the GemFan's and $10 for the Groupner's, GemFan's win.

What is your all up flying weight?

Single 2200mah 1020g Dual 1220g I am getting 7 min. out of a single and I have not tried the dual yet, after 7 min I still have 23% left in the battery and that is where I like to be.

Will check out those props do they need to be drilled? I've already goofed up one APC :-)

Carbon filled or regular plastic?

Just observing here with great interest as I'm looking to get one of these too, but I noticed the LED's. Are they run through the battery pack? I think those look to be the flashlight type heads and I know those do take some power off. Just curious, looks like a cool heli!

Yes, they are flashlight type I bought them from HK a while back and they seemed like a good fit make orientation much easier for me day and night!

I have not looked at current draw I have them running off the main pack on their own BEC @ 5V

Where did you buy the DJI from?

I found those lights on HK too and they are cool. Maybe I should get a few myself when I get that far to make one of these quads.

Those cheapy HD cams, has anyone actually used IR illuminator LED's for night time lighting?

Very cool HeliFixer!! Love your build.

Thanks much! I like it myself, I couldn't find any info on CG so I assumed it should be balanced dead center so my battery is a little offset to balance it out now but it's neat.

I put my cheapo turnigy cam on it last night and got a test, need to balance the props out and try to find a better mount The vidoe is not worth posting

It will get there, I bought it from here ---> http://hobby-drones.com/opencart/flight-controllers/dji-innovations

Be sure to "add to cart" to see the best price The owner frequents here a bit nice guy he tolerated my many questions well :-)

I got it, and the Naza from him, I have the GPS coming from him as well!

I did some gains tweaking today gonna see how I did in a bit.

Can't hardly wait to see what it looks like. Is it hard getting everything tweeked into place - meaning the electronics that is.

The price is pretty tempting to get one of these over the GAUI 330X-S.

Looking forward to your experience today.

Okay I saw that you posted earlier that you only got 4.5 minutes, this sounds better.

No they don't and they come with extra sleeves for different hubs, glass filled nylon I think. Whatever it is the 9x4.7 and 8x4.5 are working great on my 450 quads.

Using a drill press, SOMETIMES I was able to get a prop that was ALMOST usable. Then I discovered there is such a thing as a prop reamer.

http://www.atlantahobby.com/store/pc/Prop-Reamer-6-7-8mm-10p5629.htm

The Graupner 10x5 have a 8mm hole and don't need to be reamed or drilled. I checked the first four or five for balance but I don't even bother anymore.

I ordered a set of Graupner 10x5's Earlier I mentioned I managed to screw up a APC, well I hate to admit I screwed it up with a prop reamer :face

I was careful even pressure, took a little out at a time and still got it off center. Honestly I didn't check the prop before hand to see if it was good, but I've not seen a out of center APC and I've been using them awhile, I'll get out some old props and practice....

Thanks! - S
