In the past, I had the old 8U when I was flying an Pro SE II a few years ago. I'm getting back into flying next month, and I'm kind of at a delima as to which radio to get. The new mid range 9 channel radio looks pretty attractive, though at the same time, I'm considering the 9Z. So I guess my question is, aside from more points in the pitch and throttle curves, what else really makes the 9z worth it for someone that does primarily 3D but is considering flying FAI in 2007? Let me have your opinions....

A good point of consideration used to be the synthesized module but now understand the 9C has a supported synth. tx module.

9CHP is super easy to program, has modern software, supports a synth module and is relatively cheap if you decide to upgrade. The 9Z is much harder to program and has antiquated but very capable software, but is on HELL of a nice feeling radio! Go to you local field and buy what the majority and the friendliest and most helpful guys are flying.

Hrm... the 9C might be the ticket then... I'm really a futaba person. All I've ever flown are Futaba radios so I'm going to go that route. Th 14Z looks pretty amazing and has a nice feature set, but the fact that it's running windows.. *cringe* :bomb:
