I am using HS65`s so i had to make up some spacers to get servo`s in correct position.
I can get all the linkages vertical but to do this i have the ball on the servo horn placed at 12.5mm as manual states but the rear as to have the ball at 11mm on horn. Will this cause any mixing probs etc.

It needs to be at 12.5mm as the manual states. It will work with it being at 11mm but it's not right and will not be optimum. You need a 2mm spacer behind the tabs on the rear servo and 4mm behind the tabs on the front servos.

Setup ALL three cyclic servo balls at 12.5mm with the correct thickness spacers and you should be dead on.

If the servo horn on the rear is to long which may be the case just trim off the end a little. It''s ok to cut and modify the servo horns to work as needed.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. We are here to help.

Hi,

I'm setting up my mini titan too, and found the rear swash servo problem using HS65's, didn't notice a problem with the left and right swashies, other than the sanding the brackets. Of course, none of the rods are straight up, especially the rear one.

So, if you need spacers, what sort of spacer ? A washer, or a strip of wood ? - This is my first trip outside of "its all in the box ready to go". Had fun getting some screws that would attach the HS65 to the mini titan brackets :)

Thanks for any pointers :)

- Andy

on the rear servo.if i use 12.5mm for the ball it pushes the linkage way off of vertical looking from the rear.looking from the side it is vertical with the spacers.the only way using the hs65 and the moulded mounts to get mine vert is 11mm apx

Diduhearthat, Mine is center but if your frames are molded diferent than mine for some strange reason then I say go with what looks the best. Looks like you have it under control and I'm looking forward to a flight report!

Andym, Use whatever you find laying around.... wood, plastic, metal. I used an old license plate trim piece from a Mazada RX-8. Just be sure you get your servo linkage rods lined up straight as posible! You don't want the geometry being off or you will lose throw.

Hmm

Thinking about it (and looking at it)
The left and right swashies are not straight up, they seem to have the servo arm too far towards the front of the heli. Did you guys mount the servo with the screw holes behind the bracket ? I didn't - I have the screw holes of the servo in front of the bracket, so that the bracket will encompass part of the HS65 for stability.

Or it it normal to not have a straight up-down link on the rods with HS65's ?

Piccy attached

Thanks for your help :)

Hi andy,

This is how I done it with my 65MG's.

They are pretty close this way.

Hi,
Thanks :)

got the rear swashy servo sorted now, dunno why I never thought of that :P

I havn't make the mod to the left and right swashies, as looking at them, if anything they are to far forwards :)

I noticed in your pics that you have the ball links reversed to how I have them, to get a straighter drop, so I will copy that technique.

Though my servo arms need to be longer, I only have 10mm from centre of the servo to the poin twhere the ball links to the servo arm - but my longer servo arms that came with the HS65s wont fit the mini titan ball link screws (screws too small). Do you use the trex ball joints ? If so, do they fit onto the mini titan rods ?

Thanks

Andy

Ahh the fun of a first build :)

Thanks

No, i'm using the standard TT balls and links.
I'm not 100% sure because it's some time ago, but I believe I used the horns that came with the 65MG's, The double sided arms, and used one cut-off side as shim.
First try the different horn position on a neutral servo (TX mid-stick) to determine the best 90º orientation and cut it on the right side ;)
Success!!

A picture is worth a thousand words! Thanks for posting that older thread showing just how it's done. Their should be a sticky in the TT forum showing those pictures of the 65MG servo placement. Would help a lot of noobs.
