Is it normal to have to reset a Model in the 9Z before everything works? I am setting up my other helis in a 9Z and when I make a new model it seems I have to reset it before the ailerons work.

Anthony,
I have never heard of having to do that or that problem. If the radio had any models in it, I would suggest going thru the radio and reset each model to default.
If you want to do a hard reset, I have a service menu enabler and can recalibrate the sticks. A hard reset can be accomphilished by shorting two posts behind the battery compartment in the radio.

Shouldn't need all that David its a new radio, I been trying to set up my other two models, everything worked but the ailerons. I did just pick one of the default models I think they are listed as "Model01". The model Jhon copied over from his radio works just fine, and after I reset the ones I was working they worked.

Enter the TRIM menu and make sure that the gimbles and trims are assigned to the appropriate channels. For some reason by default the 9Z is configured for crosstrims in the default model which confused the heck out of me a couple times.

Never mind I found the problem, I was using a DSC cord and it turns out that the pins where it plugs into the receiver have broke loose from the board.
