i just built one of the electrifly yak54 3d planes put in an eflite 480 with the align 35A speed control.
plane flys amazingly. but the horizontal stabilizer and elev. assy. is very flimsy. 2nd flight pulling out of a diving 3d maneuver the stab. cracked next to the fuselage and locked my elev. about 20deg. up I managed to loop and spiral the thing to the ground in one peice (stop to clean out shorts here) in short before you fly and do any serious 3d with this plane reinforce the horiz. stab. with carbon fiber rods from about 2/3 out from the fuse. to the bottom of fuse. mine is rock solid now and will do any thing i ask of it. with this setup it hovers at a little over half throttle. awsome plane with a little tweaking

I was thinking about getting that plane. If I am not mistaken, this isn't the ony plane they offer that does this. It is sad because they make some really nice planes.

i got this plane to learn 3d i have a funtana S40 with an os 91 4 stroke but i wanted to learn on something alittle less wallet heavy. the yak performs awesome but i wanted to let everyone know to do this mod before they crash a new plane. i hear that the ultimate and the extra by electrifly have the same problem. this fix costs about 5 bucks and took me all of about 15 minutes. just make sure if you get one you drill all the way through the horiz, stab. so that you can ca the rod on both sides or it will pull itself out.

I have one still in the box. Would love to see where yours broke and how you fixed it.
Thanks
