I am about to build a nice battery pack for my Trex 600 with 10 of these a123 cells and balance leads from thunder power. The 1010c charger is ready for this and so is the 210 balancer. But is my stock ESC going to eccept this new battery? I'm currently running a thunder power 6s 5000mah. I hear that a 10s from 1 dewalt 36v will give more power and longer flight time and less risk as far as charging and discharging goes. I also understand that it will charge at 3c and ready to fly in 20 minutes. Any input? And will this stock Align speed controller work with this setup?

You will not get longer flight time. In fact you'll get less flight time.
You can not use 10S with the Align speed controller. You will also need a new motor with 10S.
The only way to run A123 with with stock ESC and motor is to use 14 cells and wire them as 7S2P
I fly 12S on my setup and only get 3:50 min. But it has a LOT of power,

Hello
Kreeper, we must look into how much energy we carry with the different batteries:
Usable energy (J):
Align 6s 4400 18c 74J
FP 6s 5000 EVO 25 84J
1 cell a123 5.8J
so for 10s a123 58J
12s a123 69.6J
14s a123 81.2J
15s a123 87J
The laters giving a heavier heli.
This enegy is what we have. It will be consumed at a different rate acording to which setup
we use and have influence on performance, flighttime etc...
When you read reports on long flighttimes on 10s a123 it is true, but you must understand
that for the same pilot with the same kind of sportsflying, he proberly will have longer
flighttimes on a high quality 6s lipo, but except that, there are many advanteges to a123
compared to lipo.
Have you considered higher than a 10s a123 setup and to charge it in 2 times 12 minutes?
You can charge a123 to 80% in 12 minutes, but many chargers will charge with a lower current when charging high voltage packs. The solution is to split the pack up electrical in 2 during charging and charge both half, eather at the same time with 2 separate chargers or one half at a time.
I asked in this thread for the rigth ESC for a123, it has a lot of information on ESC, motors, pinions and a123 packsize:

You can't use the stock Align speed controller, I recomend that you bay a Castle Creations Phoenix 85HV, if you want to use a123 packs.
