Whirly-Girl

Well, no new activity since this subtopic was altered...so, let me stimulate some "girly whirly" talk.
I LOVE HELI'S. I think they are really intricate and I love all the detail it takes to set one up. It's weird how I have the patience to sit down and read manual after manual (or website) about how to program this or that...but I cannot STAND the tedious process of building an airplane. Hmmm.
Right now I have a T-Rex 450X that I'm flying indoors and outside when it is calm. I'm still discovering more and more about electrics each day, so I'm still working on that "perfect setup." I just sold my Raptor 30V1 so that I could upgrade this winter. I recently completed building a Raptor 50SE with an O.S. 50 (Hyper). I don't have any special pipe picked out for it so I just installed the "upgraded" muffler than came with the kit. I love JR Radios so DS8311's are going in it along with a GY502 gyro and later, a GV-1...yay, more electronics to learn about!
My goal this summer is to begin competing. Actually, I'll probably compete in the airplane world first...but, who knows, if all my sim practice pays off and I get some guts, I may actually do something other than just hover my 50.
I'm always looking for advice, so if you have some for me, lay it on! If you are planning to go anywhere up north, look me up. I'm trying to make plans to go to some fly-ins in Bismarck, ND; Fargo, ND, and the MSP area in Minnesota. If my husband is home (he is active duty AF) in June, then I'm going to beg, plead, and cry until he takes me to the XFC in Ohio. Malorie is an alternate to compete there this year and I want to be there for her!!!!!!!!!!! GO MALORIE!!!
So, let's here it girls...what fly-ins or projects do you have in store? Spring will soon be here!!!
