Hi Folks,

Got my T-rex up and running last week end, so I thought I'd give you my impressions. First here's my set up:

GY240 gyro
Align motor (13T pinion)
BlueBird servos except HS50 for tail
ThunderPower 2000 batteries
Castle 25 ESC
Berg 5 radio

After burning out both a Chili Pepper 4200KV (6 min. hover) with an 8T pinion and a HiMax 4200KV I ended up with the Align. So far I am very happy with Align. It runs cool at only ~130deg F or so. The batteries run at about 110deg. The heli has good, not great power. I'm running the ESC as the conservative timing (as I was worried about burning out another motor)....so I'm sure there is more power to be had.

The thing flys very well. I started out on sticks to get use to the little guy. Glad I did as it was all over until I got it trimmed out and turned up the exponentials. Now it hovers hands free :). I'm getting 15min of flight time!! It handles nicely in a light breeze. I love how rugged it is. Minor mishaps don't phase it.

I'm very impressed with the over all quality, from the nice canopie to the included tools, to the extra parts, to the well built construction. This is a very nice heli. Its still touchier to fly than my Raptor 30, but I'm much less nervious flying it than my Raptor (less cost, not as dangerious).

Bottom line, it give it a big thumbs up.

Sorry you went through so many motors. You should consider the $6 heatsink for the Align. I found that the motor ran better on high timing with the CC. The theory is that outrunners have more poles. Try it for about 5 min and check the temps.

They have a new "LF" version coming out that should have more torque and run cooler since it has a built in ventilation system.

I like mine too! It has helped me to get over the fear factor that was keeping me from doing aerobatics. I know that I can afford to fix this thing when I stuff it.

I have a new Rex I just finished that has CCPM. It is really stable, even with the woodies.

After a few setup problems at start (ESC), now i can make my firsts flights(jumps), the hely is a nice thing but Align gyro 400 and servos are bad, the rest is good.
