I have the gyro on top. I really can't see the blades getting down there. But then again, what do I know? (other than Finless also have in on top?

It should be OK on top for this heli. The 450 is different proportions in comparison. e.g. it's closer to where the paddles line up. However that doesn't mean it is 100% guaranteed you cant whack the gyro if you wad up the heads and flybar bad enough! I think the risks of that happening on this heli are a lot lower!
I am leaving mine on top.
