Hi, I am pretty new to this so here comes the stupid questions.....

I have heard different things from different people about Li-Po Battery Charging and they all say it takes about 45 to 1 1/2 hours. I just bought a charger from the hobby shop and it's not the top of the line but the only one they had in stock and I wanted to fly pretty bad. It's a Dynamite 2-4 cell Li-Po Charger. I have to connect it to a DC power source. The manual that came with it gives instructions on charging but when I connect my battery to it....I do not get any of the beeps and lights I am supposed to. Bottom line is I don't know that much about these batteries and as expensive as they are I want to take good care of them to get the most use out of them. Sorry to ramble, just frustrated right now because this thing has been on the charger for over an hour and I have no power on my battery because my rotor head will not turn when I plug it in. The charger says it will flash and beep when completed but I have not seen this. I do get solid lights....does this mean it's charging or what? I know I should probably just upgrade and buy a new charger but I have spent enough money already. I am so ready to go gas powered right now.......if I didn't have everything invested in my new T-Rex 450. Please any advise or input or general knowledge would be most helpful. Thanks.

Seems like your charger was not turned on in the first place. Make sure your ac adaptor spec is also correct.. I assume should be something like 11-18V, 2-5 A output.

How can I tell if it is turned on? I get a solid red light on 3 cell and a solid green on 2-Amp. Am I correct to assume that my battery is charging with both solid lights on or do I have to do something to start the charge? I have included a picture and web address if it helps.

If you are getting the red LED to light when u plug in the battery to the charger and the charger to the wall, then you are probably charging the battery.

My cheapo Align charger has 3 LEDs for each cell in the pack, they are all green when the charger is plugged to an AC outlet and no battery is plugged. They turn red when a pack is charging and will turn green individually when the respective cells are finished charging.(usually at the same time)

EDIT: I notice that there is a button on your charger to select # of cells and start. Maybe you need to push that button to "start" charging?

Took the charger into the shop and found out that my battery is bad. it was so low the new charger would not recognize it, so i bought a new battery and charger...all is good now. thanks
