So, is everyone Happy with their E-Razors - have not heard much chatter lately,
I see some of the big boys are not flying their Razors anymore.
I like mine, crashed it last week, not sure why yet - and now fixing. Didn't go in too bad, not too expensive to fix and frames survived.
Would enjoy hearing if everyone who bought razors are still flying them - my feeling is - good quality, stable, too heavy - MA needs to start thinking about making the main frame modular like Mikado - just my opinion.
I just recently bought another eheli. and going to give that a try and compare.
Thanks,
JH

I like mine a lot. I have the Ion X2 on order from MA. What I like about the Ion over the Razor is that the motor is not covered by the canopy and the tail is not a belt drive. I'm not a big fan of the belt and I'm always second guessing and checking belt tension. I dont want to do that anymore. I wish the Razor was lighter like everyone else. It still performs well none the less. I had a Stratus w/ a YS .91 and the power was GREAT! I want that back again and I think I will get it in the Ion X2. If I like the Ion more than the Razor, I know I'm going to have to take a huge loss on the Razor if I decide to let it go. Guess I'll cross the bridge when I get there!

I got a PM today from a pilot I know. He totaled his TRex 600e in a crash. He wanted to know if I would recommend a Razor as a replacement. Bottom line is, I said yes, it is a great helicopter. I further said it is heavy and should really have a 12s battery setup. Nevertheless, I do fly it as 10s (4350 MAH) and can get a solid 10 minutes (patern, not 3D).

So, I do very much like my Razor. I have crashed it once but the damage was not bad. It is repaired and flying like new.

Yes, I agree with you - but I am doing 3D on both 4350 and 3700 size batts.
Thanks for the input,
Jeff
Why did your crash - I just crashed mine and repairing - I think it was an electrical problem,

jrohland-
I have a Razor chassis if your buddy is interested. Its a back up, but I need to turn it loose for the Ion X2.

I was doing some low altitude orientation training and a wasp landed on my cheek. I lost concentration and put it down hard. I broke the landing gear and it fell over. I had to replace the landing gear, main shaft, flybar, tailboom and tail blades.

the Razor is my first bigger heli so i really cant compare it to others from the standpoint of its flight performance but i consider it a cadillac were a trex is just a chevy. you pay more for the better quality and "out of the box" engineering. and the ability to enjoy and admire those aspects has value.ill bet thats what MA has tried to accomplish. not to mention for us Americans its "American made"
i really have never liked the push/pull bellcrank stuff. the Razors servos are as straight forward as you can get .the HTD belts and sprockets say its designed to handle the power. those are the two things that sold me.
i seems some have argued that the repair cost is too high but its been 50-75 bucks or so (less blades) on the 4 smashes ive had.
im going 12s on a 680 blade next and i think that will get the power to weight ratio right where it needs to be (big block in a pinto).
so to answer the question- yes. im happy
