Some of you guys may remember that when the 600N first was released, I got a kit that had the fan mount break free from the clutch (other thread in this forum). Well.... I can't get a break with this one and only part. I have now put about 9 gallons through her and she flys very well and I absolutely love the bird.... but.... I have run both the G-force metal fan and the 3DX. The G-force was a total waste of money, but the 3DX seems to be doing well. Here is the problem, my fan mount when used with the metal fans keep breaking the small screw attachment point off of the fan mount. This has now happened on three fan mounts and with both fans. Has anyone else had this issue or am I the lucky one here? If your running a metal fan check your fan mount!
Other than this the bird is flawless.

13 gal here on original fan mount with no broken screws. Is it possible you are over tightening the screws ? I can't see any reason why it would be doing that. :dontknow

Ive also had the small 'arm' break off the mount BUT mine did it while running no fan at all (sorting out a vibe problem). The casting of this part is rather crap and is obviously an area that Align will need to fix.
BTW Why do you say the gforce fan is a waste of time? Mine works very well.

It is possible that I overtighted the first one... but by the time I got to the second and third fan block I was paying pretty close attention because I could not figure the reason. Only thing I can think is that they are not completely flush with the bottom and the metal fans are causing them to break where as the plastic fan will flex.
The G-force I got was the first edition with the vanes in the wrong direction. Same fuel, same day, same head speed, same needle settings the Gforce fan will run 259F and the 3DX runs 204F. This is what I found.... anyone want a G-force fan?

I'm in the same boat...I figured how bad could the HE fan be...well I have my YS in the breaking stage and was running it 1.5 out from closed and had to turn it up to almost 1.75 just to get it back down to 230ish...I will be putting the stock plastic back in until my 3DX shows up...so that's two G-force fans up for free...:)

I couldn't believe how hot that thing got after such a mild flight on it. You could tell it moves less air even at idle if you put your hand under the head. It's night and day compared to the 3dx or the new Align metal fan.

no joke...that thing got so hot I think it actually contributed to the death of a brand new YS motor...Oh well you live and learn...IMO Stay away from the "HE" version of the G-force fan and I also have a friend who has a "HO" fan that he's thinking it's too much of a load on the bearings. I have the stock fan in now waiting for my 3DX fan, and tired OS motor, waiting for the guys at MTA to come back to work so I can send in my YS and another OS in for repair...(you need the recipt and I lost mine, so keep yours incase you have to send them in for work)...
Yup, OZ I'm playing dirty...have been for about 3 months now and have 4 nitro machines at the moment...nitro helis are a diff world of tweeks....Oh well I needed another challange, "e's" were getting boaring....:)

My 3DX fan just arrived...and it looks like Matt got the last fan from the Assurance boys, so I'll have to search around for it....I'll be putting the new fan and a fresh OS50 hyper in tomorrow and break it in for this weekends fun fly...
