I think you are thinking of starwoodmodels.com...
Also, James Linder was tragically killed in a training crash in August, and the Approach Engineering Kits are currently out of production.
Indyhelis is the only other Apache I know of at the moment...

Has anyone received any info from Indy Apache? I've sent several e-mails to them enquiring about there product and never a response. Man, if they are this bad at responding to potential customers I wonder how they are once you are a customer.

I've always have had good response from them, you may want to check your spam filter first or give them a call.

I have spoken with you and really would like to know the compatability with the Gaui 550 mechanics in the Cobra. I have been afraid to order without knowing if it can be done.

Hey Dr Tim
How about the AH-64e
Will the Swift 16 fit in it with no problems ?
I really want to build it. I know the Apache will fit the Swift 16 since it was amde for that purpose. But I don't want to have to modify the AH-64 it to fit.

I am also interested in this as well as I would like to convert my Hurricane to scale someday soon.
It will depend on what Hurricane frame you have Carbon or Plastic.
If you are running Carbon then i would suggest that it will fit in the fuse no problem if you take the lower frame halves off and construct some sort of mounting system for it.
If you have the Plastic frame then i think without drastically cutting the frame down it will be a pretty tough call. The swift plastic frames are much smaller than the hurricane plastic frame. For the cost of a Plastic hurricane frame (roughly $26) it would suggest it would be cost effective to buy a couple and cut up to make it fit.
These are just my opinions and never having seen an Apache fuse up close i am only guessing.
Most of this type of thing is doable as long as you can think outside the box you can pretty much make anything work for you!
Cheers

I was going to build the AH-64. But since it won't be available for a while. And I wasn't sure how well I actually could do it. In the process I am designing a 4 bladed tail rotor for teh Swift that would work in the Apache/AH-64. But chances are I will just use it on a A109.
Either way you might want to take a look at it and follow the process. So far it is going extremly well

Not real familier with the Gu 550 .. If the Blade length and size are compairable to the Logo 10 or Swift 16 then I see no Problem fitting these mechanics into the fuse. There are 2 rails that the mechanics sit on. these 2 rails could be moved higher or lower or simply removed if nessary. The bottom plate is light ply so if your mechanics are a bit tall then you could screw the mechanics directly to the bottom Plate. The Logo site on the rails glued to this plate, The Swift sits about an Inch higher.
Hope this helps ... Easy to modify, that's the beauty of Wood!
