will 14Z files work on the 12Z

hi,

i am a proud new owner of a 12Z and i am having some trouble setting up the ccpm on my Ion. i have tracked down some mdl files for the Ion but they are for a 14Z.

if i download this file to the CF card, will it work in the 12Z ?

i want to check before i try anything and then get into a bigger problem :)

Up to what I researched for, it will work if you make sure that the model name is with 8 chars instead of bigger name in the 14MZ.

I have a 12Z too and I used a Finless thread to hack the .mdl files and change the model name to correct lenght. It works fine :noteworthy. pm me if you don't find it or cannot do the changes.

Perfect. I learned to use a hex editor as a little kid in order to hack the number of lives I could have in video games on the old Atari and Commodore computers. 3 lives just never seemed like enough.
