The installation of the G90 more/less completes the upgrades that I started a few weeks ago. My Spektrumized (DX7) Blade is a changed bird.

Wow. I hadn't realized how much I was working my left thumb on that rudder. The gyro significantly smoothed things out. It's not at the same level as my T-Rex, but it's a huge improvement over the 3-in-1 built-in gyro. Without my constant adjustment on the rudder, everything is smoother.

For those installing a G90, be sure to check out the Blade CP Pro manual. My straight Blade CP didn't come with such a thing, but you can download it here from Horizon. It includes all kinds of useful content that can't be found in the regular Blade CP manual.

If you're running with a DX7, the remote gain adjustment should be plugged in to your GEAR channel. When the GEAR switch is in the 0 position, you're in heading hold mode. Standard mode, if you ever need it, can be accessed by flipping to 1. To adjust the gain, you adjust the travel for the gear channel. Positive travel is for the heading hold mode. Negative travel is for standard, I set mine to +75%/-75% initially and later tweaked it down to +70% on heading hold.

Here's a picture of my Blade CP since being Spektrumized. The only original pieces are the boom, tail motor, servos, and frame. Everything else has been replaced... at least once. At this point, I think it's a Blade CP++. Haha. I went through a huge stack of blades, spindles, and main shafts on this thing, but it's been worth it. I probably have as much money into it as my T-Rex.

A well setup Blade can be a total blast.

Get a better battery if you have a good charger for your rex

I've been running a E-Flite 1300mah LiPo for a while. It was the very first upgrade when I was learning to fly on the Blade CP. After a few crashes, I quickly realized that I wouldn't be able to learn a darn thing with the short flight times offered by the stock 650mah NiMh battery.

With the 1300mah LiPo, flight times are typically more than 10 minutes. Plus, it's lighter than the 650mah battery it replaced.

For charging, I've been using the E-Flite Celectra 1-3 cell charger. When I got the T-Rex, I picked up an AstroFlight blinky balancer. It's not elegant, but it works.

ya higher ma is great but what ive noticed is that with any eflite lipo pack the c rating SUCKS. even the 1000ma 3s pack has a worse rating then the stock pack wich is 8c and the 1000ma pack was 7c..a tp 1320 would change your bird...
