View Full Version : Blade CX2 Painting Tips?
Hi,
I just bought a Blade CX2 and I'm considering painting it. I haven't painted any models for 25 years and was wondering where to start. Should I sand the plastic first? What kind of paint would you recommend? Primer? Etc.
Thanks,
Fitz

The canopies are hard to paint, make sure you at least sand it... don't use spray paint. I tried it and it doesn't work too well
What would you suggest I use to take off the decals/stickers?
Any idea of the best type of paint to use? Automotive, primer, etc.?

Just don't use transparent adhesive tape to cover the windows before painting. I actually did. The sticky residue on the canopy was terrible.
Somebody has a suggestion what to use?

The Scotch brand blue painters tape is pretty good .

Ok, I've been using some ordinary household-adhesive tape which was old too.
Maybe I have to find some Scotch brand blue painters tape too.
BTW I love your signature "I'm here to learn". While it fits my own view it also reminds me of the Terminator who says "the more I am together with people the more I learn,"
Well, I found my solution! I spoke with Keith over at KR's Hobbies and ordered some mods for my CX2. He's going to paint everything for me. It's so much easier, not even having an airbrush, and he guarentees great results. I can't wait!
