I own a trex450se and a raptor E620SE and am been seeing alot of threads about the Mini titan.
For thows that have flown both, How would you compare them in quality and flight?

Thanks

I've seen this being questioned a lot.
I don't own a T-rex and have never flown one either, the MiniT is my first heli.
But before people say that the SE has more quality than the MiniTitan I have to say they are probably right when it comes to the applied materials and engineering input.
The T-rex SE costs 3x as much so it's like comparing apples with pears.
So IMO a fair comparison would be the T-rex 450s cause it's the same price.
And don't forget to mention all the years Align is ahead with many problems that were solved by user comments and sponsored pilots in the 450 class.

I can't compare the flying characteristics.
I'm a Heli Noob when it comes to flying one (just starting to feel comfortable), Have been flying planks for 20 years though...
But being a technician (15 years in steel and 5 years in plastics) also helps to determine if something is designed and manufactured with good quality.
I can be short about that, The MiniTitan is a very good design.
The quality of design and materials they present with the current sales price is more than competitive IMO.

If you are planning to fly it with carbon blades, be prepared to buy some metal head upgrades.
The head was designed to be used with the woodies.
As with every design when you change one component it affects all other components in the assembly of the machine.
Settings change etc.etc.
So you have to bring it to the same level as the SE.

It flies so well that a newbie like me can learn how to fly a CP RCheli.
When you make changes to the mechanics, settings or basic things like the COG the heli reacts to it.
So it also reacts like it should on changes, no funny or unlogical behaviour.
A big pro is the stability of it, most of that has to do with the bigger disc and probably the tail design and placement of the cyclic servo's.

I definitely will continue this hobby and am looking at bigger (affordable)heli's already, love the Trex600N.
The MiniTitan really triggered my obsession.

I owned a T-rex450SE. Built it and never flew it. It was a ***** to assemble! Then I sold it and got a Mini-Titan. It has far less parts and was much easier to build. I'm glad I made the change! It flies great and is cake to work on!!!!

I own 2 rexs and never flown a MT but i will offer this up. On a 450 size heli metal survives crashes and plastic doesnt. Get the heli you can get the parts for locally. In my opinion which heli flies harder (3D'er ??) it really comes down to your motor and esc selection and setup. Flybar length, paddles, weights, collective and pitch range. Ive seen a video of basically every heli being flown hard, i would say that any heli can be setup to fly as hard as the pilot can.

This argument will never die, but I'm just going to say that they are both great helis and I am extremely happy with my MT and am not concerned about the bling factor. I might have been equally happy with a 450XL which is similary priced, but chose the MT based on these factors:

- Location of battery - no modding necessary and high CG
- Apparent strength of and room available inside frame
- Slightly larger disc dia.
- Good experience with last TT kit build (R50)
- Videos I had seen of performance of the stock heli, ESC, motor

I never thought I would park my Trex. I loved my first MT so much I went and bought another one. The second one is complete with all the metal upgrades, sort of a SE version. I take the pair to the field with 5 batteries and swap them out back and forth. Hard to tell the difference but the metal stuff blings in the air. I'd say it would be hard to choose if you have good support for parts. The basic kit is cheap and flys so well. Ultimatehobbies has the basic kit for $129.00 as well as amainhobbies. I put an Align 430XL with the align bec in the first one, rocket! The bling model has the tt motor and esc. TimT

Bought the first Zoom's - and if you through enough money at it (belt drives brushless motors etc ) then it kind'a flew.
The Mini Titan is the best out the box performer for £120 uk money I've seen.

There like belly button's ""EVERYONE HAS ONE NOW ""

Now I've sorted the blade tracking issue with metal blade grips and main hub I wouldn't swap My MT for anything, it is now so stable to hover it's a pleasure.

Put metal mixer levers on too. It will help way more than you think. Also if your tracking problems show back up later then you will need the metal mixing levers for sure then.

It's a BIG difference when you upgrade the levers (or head), stable as a rock, Makes it so nice to fly.
Now I have to loose some of my latest crash fear and really take-off and enjoy(frustrating border to cross).

I have flown both a T rex and a mini titan, enjoyed them both, with or with out upgrades.
did howervr, find that the t rex was more work to fly as you had to chase it almost around the sky to get where you want to go/do with it.
the MT was more like a 50 it did what you wanted to do with out chasing.

New to advanced pilot MT
Intermediate advances T rex ( the thinking flyer)
