This came from RR, in the JR section after some commotion came up about Horizon and the new JR line of helicopters.
Hi All!
Len here. I read quite a few assumptions on this subject, so I thought that I would provide the straight scoop.
Horizon is interested in offering and supporting the Airskipper 50 here in the states. JR has just completed production, and sample kits are on the way to Horizon to be evaluated by myself and several of our team pilots over the next few months.
As someone on this thread mentioned, we evaluate all products before releasing to market as we try as much as possible to avoid our customers being the "beta testers" for a new item. This has worked to our customers benifit on many occasions. When you see Horizon slow to move on a new JR product, or makes the decision not to add it to the lineup, it is most always with good reason and much research.
As soon as the Airskipper passes our evaluation we will move forward to develop a user friendly US instruction manual, and bring the product to market with a full parts support from Horizon.
Until we determine that we will offer a product, Horizon does not equip their service/sales people with this type of information. Since Helis are a very technical sale, you really cannot expect service or sales to have all the latest up to date information like us heli addicts, right?
As much as we would like to race all products to market, the details in releasing a good product do take some time.
We are working with JR to finish up the Vibe as quickly as possible, and the Airskipper 50 will be next up.
As for the Airskipper 30, we will not be bringing this model into the US as a high end 30 size machine just does not make allot of sense when you can go with the 50 model for slightly more, and have much improved performance.
I hope this helps to clear things up. Horizon is commited to bring the best JR Heli products to the states, and to back them with their outstanding parts support.
Thanks for reading!
