I hate my 600 mAh, DX6 battery... lasts a whopping hour if I'm lucky. A spliced JST connector makes it easy to charge with my "super brain" charger, instead of that craptasatical 50mA charger.
I just priced a battery from onlybatterypacks.com that is the same dimensions, but 2600mAh and nimh, and only costs about $26... considerably less than all the 3S lipo solutions I've found. The DX6 is a current hog, but 4+ hours would be a great improvement for me, plus I wouldn't have to worry about over-discharging the nimh nearly as much as I would the lipo. I've also read there's a way to change the current draw on the DX6, but I make too much of a mess when soldering to really attempt it. I bet this battery would last quite a while in the DX7.
