After 8 months of learning tail in hover and nose in hover on the Blade CP , I did it, I finally did my first forward flight. What a rush! I was so F(*&()*(^ nervous my hands were shaking like crazy. I even did my first figure 8. Even now I'm still shaking. Perfecting tail in and nose in finally paid off.
All I can say is what a rush! Man that was awesome!

Did my second and third forward flight yesterday. I'm still a bit nervous but I'm slowly overcoming it. When I was up there my friends came over to take a look at my thumbs and they all laughed as both my thumbs spasmed like crazy. If I didn't have the swash links moved two holes in, I would of done some the most wobbly figure 8s I have ever seen.
Happy flying

wobbly or not figure 8s are hard. At least for me they are.

Did some more forward flight today and more figure 8s. I wasn't as nervous this time. My thumbs weren't shaking as much. Eventually the training gear will come off but there is no reason to rush.
Oh ya, my friend has a Blade CP mostly stock with brushless and flat bottom blades. OMG! he was able to back flip, forward flip, roll and do some Split S maneuvers. Keep in mind this is on flat bottom blades and a rate gyro, no HH. I can only imagine what a set of syms and a 401 can do with a Blade CP.

Can you believe it. Acrobatics on a "Blade CP mostly stock with flatbottoms. Anything is possible.

The balls have come off. I have three flights down with out the training gear. Its so much more responsive without them. However, it does have a tendency to tip over when on the ground. Especially when on the flat bottoms, just spooling up the heli to mid stick on a windy day is enough to tip it over.

aye txflyer,, have ya tryed doing long and fast figure 8's,, about 30 -40 feet,at around 25 mph at 2-3 feet off the deck???? dont know y ,,but thats only way I can do it, but ,,i am a rookie still, havent tryed it yet with my trex 600 just the 450's.
and congrats,, F1atom its awsome aint it,, first time i did forward flight on my 600,, i thought I wz gonna throw up!! so nervous,, with some work mates ,,watchin and all
F1Atom— if you don't mind some advice, get rid of the flatties and fly symmetrical woods.
When you take off spin it up, make sure the tail is behaving itself, then get it off of the ground at least six feet up. From there maintain 12 - 25 feet of altitude and wind won't be a problem because you'll have room to make corrections.
Best of luck; sounds like you're doing great.
congrats man, you're getting in to the fun stuff now!

Went with a dual tail recently. It holds much better now. But I had to add 5 nickels to the front of the 4in1 to counter the heavy arse, it flies much better with the added weight. I'm thinking about doing brushless but I would need to keep it cheap cause I'm thinking about getting the Blade 400 when it comes out (maybe).
Anyone have suggestions for a cheap BL setup: speed controller and BL motor. Is possible to keep it below 50$. Lately I have been looking at the stuff at helidirect but I'm not to sure about some of the ESC like the "ELE" and "Dynam". I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks All!
With the new tail my stall turns are getting better.

Don't use nickels; get a 1000 mah Esky battery and fly longer.
I'll bet an Esky 3100 brushless motor would drive the BCPP real well. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_index.asp sells inexpensive ESC's.

Nose in help.
Just wanted to through this out there. It has really helped me progress. Put the training gear back on and practice take off's nose in.
Then flip it to where tail in. Then start quickly rotating in all directions 45 degrees.
When that clicks, start doing circles trying to keep the bird in a perfect level hover while the tail is spinning. This will train the brain so to speak.
Its really helping me, so I thought I would share.
I have been doing some FF's on the b400 for about 2 weeks now, but this is really helping me.

Good going. That's what Gino_CP on RCG told me to do and it helped a lot. You don't even need the trainers, really, if you are comfortable without them for normal take-offs and forward flight.
