Hello everyone.
I have just baught my first 90 heli. It is the raptor 90 SE and i purchased the OS 91 hyper pumped and regulated for power. My question is what headspeed should i run with this bird and what gyro can i get away with for it. Im actually looking at the JR 770 3D gyro but im not sure if it will hold good enough. Im also looking at the GY 611 but if the JR will work i would rather go that route. Also im going to run the JR8611 A servoes for the colective. Any help with this would be most appreciated.
Thank you all.

headspeed dictates alot. what kind of flying are you looking at doing? are you a beginner or a hot shot pro who can do every manuever in the book? Beginner 1800ish headspeed. intermediate to 3D hot shot - 1900-2000ish headpseed. possible a bit more depending on if you have carbon blades or not.
Can't help much with gyro recommendation, but i'll let ya know how i like the 611 sometime next week after mine arrives with the new heli.

Laurens, did you consider the Logictech 6100 (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=37202)? If not, why?
Congrats on your 90, I envy you!

Hi,
The G7703D is definitly working on a 90 helicopter. The holding power is better than a 601 (I don't know about a 611). I'm running this combo on my 90's for a half year orso and I'm still very happy with it :)
Good luck

I heard setup isn't as forgiving as a futaba gyro on the 6100. Also the G770T is small and light. I can put it in the front of my heli so I don't have to run a long wire to the tail.

I just got a 770 Combo. I was thinking of saving it for my next heli, but I keep hearing good things about it, so I may pull off the 601 and try it.

I have put mine on yesterday. Now the raptor just requires some minor checks, I'll fly later this week. Next weekend the last contest of this season is held at Roden. I'll let you know how it performs.

The 611 is what i fly very nice easy setup, holds the tail like a rock ......
Tried a few of the other gryo's some came very close to the 611.
But the 611 is for me the best one out there.
