Okay guys, I've got the blessing of the club officers for our home field in Blythe, GA. Overnights are okay, no hookups, but fresh water and facilities are nearby. Camper Park is less than 3 miles away. The field is inside the city limits, but night flying would be fine until 11 PM.
There is no landing fee, and if enough people pre-confirm, we can arrange a BBQ or meals to be available.

The field is approx. 8 miles from motels, and 6 miles south of Ft. Gordon's gate 5.

Directions to the field from US 25 @ I-520; 25 south 9 miles to GA hwy 88 west, through Hephzibah to the stop sign in Blythe (6 miles) Hwy 88 west 1.3 miles, sign and field on the left before the water tower.

Directions to the field From US 1@ I-520, 8 miles south to Hwy 88, right at stopsign, 1.3 miles, field and sign on the left.

North on US 25 from Waynesboro;
13 miles north of downtown, take left onto GA hwy 88 6 miles to stop sign, continue on Hwy 88 1.3 miles, sign and field on left.

We are leaning towards the last weekend in February or the second weekend of March, depending on what works best for those coming, and not interfere with other, larger events, and the swap meet in Perry, GA.

Got raw newbies here that I don't have the knowledge to help with, we need you guys!!

*Edited to add map and flyer*

Week before Huntsville if I'm not mistaken. If it was over an hour from your place to our field, I would have setup later in the season.
Wonder if airhorn guy will be able to make it too? real invasion..hehehe
thanks Clintstone!!

It's kinda off the cuff, informal as hell, and squeezed in before I ruin the newbies with my learnings if you can relate.
We are setting up to have grills and food available for sale or use depending on needs. Toilets will likely be chemical outhouses, but we may have the real facilities of a mobile home available too.
We are a small 25 member club, kind of the fringe of the area, being south of town, but we don't have the infighting common to larger clubs, and a member owns the land.
We have a great location for helis, as housing is getting closer but not on top of us yet. There is a grass strip airport 3 miles away, and we can arrange for flyovers of a Giles 202, a J-3, a potful of ultralights, and maybe a couple of other A/C near sundown for entertainment.
We'd love to have ya Harkey.

Finalizing the 'to do' list for our members, so we have clear areas for campers/tents, and a more 'organized' parking area.

flying off the tailgate is okay....sometimes. :)
All will be ready for the weekend of the event.

I had the Missus confirm delivery of the porta-john.
As this is out-of-pocket for me, ya'll gotta come just to piss in it.
Otherwise, I can see my kitchen pass getting revoked...

Is anyone going who can help me with the set-up of a Bergen Intriped EB, and 9303? I plan on building all this weekend. I hope to have it done by then. It would be nice to get it setup before b-ham.

Tapeworm...I wish I could come down and give you a hand...But I am going to miss this one...will be out west on business until late Friday night the 11th...plus since I wasn't going to be able to fly this weekend I tore both my Intrepids apart to send the heads in to have Larry to do the "double O-ring" mod on them...I will be rebuilding and test flying up here in VA on the 12th and 13th so I will be ready for B-ham...

Have fun and see you in B-ham!

Well I still need to finnish the build.Just got the 9303 in today. So the build will continue tomorrow once I go to the LHS and pick up some bolts to mount the servos. They open at 9 a.m.. I hope there on time, because I will be. Then I drive 15 minutes home and lock my self in the office and build all weekend.I'm still waiting on some electronics. So hopefully I'll get them all buy next weekend.

Call or email Ray, and have the parts hand-carried to the site if one of the 'Boro guys doesn't mind.
We can finish it at the field and have it flying.
