Realflight G3 problem on vista please help!

I have the original Realflight G3 version 3.00.313. I have installed the software onto my new HP Pavillion DV9520tx laptop.

Once installed the standard software runs on the Vista Home Premium edition (32Bit) no problems.

I have then downloaded the G3.5 patch followed by installing the patch. The patch has installed correctly, however when I run the software I get the following error as the simulator loads the terrain and objects:

”Error

ERROR: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL

FILE: M:\releases\realflight\G3.5\calvin\kelib3\directx\ DXEffect.hpp”

I have tried installing different versions including the very latest version but it seems that any version I install above 3.00.313 will unfortunately yield the same result.

I have searched for a fix and can not find anything that helps please assist.

P.S.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers from my Laptop manufacturer.

Any help with WTF is wrong would be appreciated!

I did not get that error but to make mine work properly I had to change the settings for the shortcut to always run as administrator. Right click on any shortcuts that start the program, go to properties, then compatibility, check box to always run as administrator.

I think that is the correct sequence as I am writing this from memory. I will check it again when I get home and make any corrections. I hope this helps as mine works fine.

Fixed it you have to do the incremental update in the launcher as the DL update is missing info from previous versions. So in summary use the launcher to update and should be fine
