There are plenty of brands of govs out there, but what is the difference between them all? I have seen some mention that one runs a higher frame rare than some others, but is the major difference between them the way they program? I am currently running the ATG, and really dont like it. It is not intuitive at all, and I may not even have it set up right. I have read countless threads about it and am still confused. This is however my first glow setup.
I am thinking of switching to the GV1 due to it having a readout which i think would make it easier to program. Is there a gov that really is so much better than the others?
Thanks for your opinions!

Multigovernor has a pluggable display as well, what makes it better than GV-1 is that you plug in the display while programming and unplug it when you are done programming = display survives crashes well

The GV-1 is a great gov but it was designed 15 years ago, very old technology and somewhat difficult to program. The MultiGov on the other hand is a newer design, lightweight, and very easy to program. It comes with a removable LCD screen for programming and take about 1 minute to completely setup.

Throttle Jockey RevMax is also nice and easy to setup. Not as many customizable or advanced options as the MuliGov but it does the job it's designed to do. No display, configurable via Tx. Basically fly it and have a friend reduce the ATV setting until the desired max headspeed is reached. You can have different rates in different modes as well. Depends on your Tx and what you want to do.
I almost got the MuliGov and it does seem very nice and modern. It's supposed to have a user-friendly basic setup and most people don't ever need to access the advanced options. I just decided on the RevMax because it was cheaper and other guys at my club have used it and could help me if/when I had problems.
Just my .02.

My vote for the RevMax as well. Cheap, small, easy to install and configure, and it works great. As far as getting the desired headspeeds, it's always nice to be able to tach and confirm initial settings, but even if you can't tach it, I have found the ATV calculator on Model Avionics web site to be close to dead on every time for setup purposes. It's been off 20-30 rpms when I've used it to program the 9303, but close enough.

Thanks for all the info guys. I will check out the two and probably pick one up. Im parking my 600 until November (until after the Tucson Shootout) so will not have a new gov in it till then.
Thanks again

If you having problems with the ATG, you may want to check out Finless build series on the T600N, where he shows how to setup the Gov....I went with MultiGov, very easy to setup.

Yo Zak, check out the Aerospire website, I just got the multigov and multigovE for my Trex's but haven't set them up yet. I have a GV-1 in my Raptor. After I saw their website I was "all in". See ya at the field, Eric
