View Full Version : just got my hurricane, its great, but.........
UGLY!!!!
I ve just finished the build and it was such a nice easy heli to build. I have seen one fly and I think this heli is great. But the canopy is the ugliest cano ive ever seen. I know we cant all be beautiful , but i dont want to crash everytime i am nose in because i have to look away.
After purchasing some upgrades from ready heli i have noticed that GAUI and readyheli are excellent in providing improvements and upgrades after listening to feedback from their customers. So.. I was wondering if enough people agree with me, and think the cano is the one bad thing about this bird ,might someone make something a bit more pleasing to the eye.
does anyone know if their are any other canopies that work on the hurricane like a raptor 30 or the E550 Or will i just have to wait until someone makes something.
Other than that i am stoked with this heli and once again thanks to finless for the build vids,helpful as always.

reallly you think it's ugly? I mean it's not like a groundbreaking canopy design... but i dont think it is particularly ugly..... What do you think makes it uglY?

I actually think that it's a good looking heli - especially with the shorter boom, no complaints about the canopy from me

I think the FG canopy in red, white and grey is beautiful. But I would like to be able to buy some custom painted canopies. And by the way, the Raptor 30 canopy is to big.

Hahaha... you are funny! What would you consider a nice looking canopy?
Me myself likes the design, I find this heli looking better then most.

In some weather conditions I have problems when flying towards me in front of the woods to see the heli (no problems with this on other helis). But other than that I also think the heli is nice looking!

I personally think the canopy is not ugly but homely rather.
I wish the canopy was not pre-painted though because the lines between the white and red on mine are really crappy. A lot of paint bled under the tape. Besides that, eveybody has the red, white and grey canopy. Come on Gaui, save yourself some labor costs and 86 the paint job.

Mine isn't - the kit currently comes with a plain white canopy

Doesnt the SE version come with the FG painted canopy? Painting isnt the funnest thing in the world but the pre-painted CF canopy that you can get from readyheli really does look much nicer. I th ink it also saved my heli's servos. I crashed really hard the other day and all i had to change out was a single ball link connector, tail boom, and blades. The thing is i think i can still use the tail boom cause it's barely dented.
I quite like it - had std white with decals which is Ok. But FG looks pretty nice .
The style of canopy looks good !

I dont hve the FG cano, but I think the standard one is to narrow. To me ,it looks like is been squashed side on. I think the FG cano looks better as at the bottom it flares out ,and not in. Although i do agree that the fg would be good if it came unpainted also. The other thing i like about other canopies is that the wind sheilds are clear or tinted. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder and most people seem to like this canopy. Maybe i am the odd one out here, it wouldnt surprise me, after all i thought flouro gogo socks and leopard skin tights looked great.L.O.L

Remember that a narrow canopy will penetrate wind better and generally fly faster
They do look a bit different - I would not say ugly but not pretty either

Hey Pipefish,That is a nice paint job.I like my stock white lid because it is easy to pop on/off.

Yes the narrow canopy is a good thing for performace. Very aerodynamic.

the nearest San Francisco we have here in Brasil is São Francisco. A beatifull city in an side estate from Paraná (ou estate). Although I like the 49's team. I meant this painting for a good view in the air for video footage.
