Tuning problems anyone?

Hi,
not realy. Mine is running from the first tank on without any problems. I started exactly with the hints of the manual. Now after 5 Galons I made a check and every thing is like new. I'm using OS #8 and Cool Power 20%. Head Speed 1800, 1900, 2000 with GV1.

The only thing you need to worry about with the YS50 is the ability to get spare parts
(the price of the YS50 is an issue for some people)

No problems. This engine is running and running and running and that so powerfull. I love this engine.

Every part you need is available at YS parts and service.
Flew my new 600N today with the YS.50st engine and Funtec HN-50 pipe.
Fired right up and kept going with no adjustments necessary except two clicks richer from factory recommendation (1.5t out)... Very quiet combo and I like it :)
...Spares is no problem, I bought two engines, got the other one waiting in a box.
EDIT: Running Byron YS fuel 20/20 & OS#8 plug

No problems at all even though only run just over a gallon of fuel through it.
Tell you what though....I like it a lot.

Make sure your one way check valve is still tight , and hasen't come unscrewed from it self. good luck.

What needle setting are you using on your Ys 50, I am running cool power 30%. I checked my low end needle and it was set to 3/4 out, that seems a bit lean. If I recall the top was at about 1 1/2. It's putting out good smoke and the temp seems OK but once and awhile after a flight it has that hot nitro smell. How do these settings compare.

the book says to start brake in with the low at 1 turn out and the high at 1.5... so it being /75 out on the low seens to be a little lean...

i have had one problem with with this engine ........... and that is i don't have one yet but I've heard it's stronger than the os hyper when i can find one in stock somewhere i will order one :YeaBaby:

mine is running well on my AS.50CE with Hatori #522 muffler,factory setting(+1 click richer),quiet combo,powerfull,temp is good,i like it :)
now i have two OS hyper in the box ;) waiting for new helis:)
