Hi guys, Ive been trying to get into this hobby for about six months now. I initially purchased a honeybee cp2 because according to the advert it was rdy to fly out of the box (this was a christmas present) well lets see, it would not fly out of the box as a matter of fact it took me nearly three weeks to get a set up where it would even get light on the skids, several crashes a whole nother base plane and an upgraded aluminum frame with the double motors and still not much luck I have a times been able to get it to hover (yes rads school helped, no the fms with supplied dongle did not work I even ordered another one and still couldnt get tx to talk to computer) So then I bought a TREX 450X (only 100$ NIB for FAXERA) Ive since assembled it so far as the servos (HS55's and a Align 6g for tail) Ive purchased a used 6EXH radio (looks brand new) so basically Ive got to buy a rx, xtal, esc, mtr, gyro and bat, charger

Currently the bee seems to have two bad tail motors, max gain on 4 in one and still piros have to fly the tail to get it to kind of stay straight.

So should I just give up on the bee, build out the rex or once again bet some new parts and keep at it with the bee?? Yes I know I should get a sim but I am kind of impaitnet if I get the sim I probly wont get to fly until late winter/early spring but then again if u crash a sim u press the reset button, I do have a CX2 that IVe been playing with and its fun but not really what i want to do.

so anyway some advice would be great thanks guys and gals

I suspect you will have more fun with a larger and better heli. There is now a lot of choice in the 450-class:

Most popular: TRex450 S/SA/SE/SEv2
Well worth considering: Dragonus II Plus/Elite/Pro - http://www.hobby-lobby.com/dragonus.htm

Many others:
TT miniTitan e325
HDX450 - http://www.helidirect.com/index.php?cPath=29
RCT-450 Phantom/Diablo/Skyshark - http://www.rc-tek.com/us_store/450-class-electric-helicopters-c14.html
Phoenix 450 - http://www.heliwarehouse.com/
3DX450 - http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet/the-CNC-450-helicopter/Categories
Copter-X - http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/index.php?cPath=173_174&osCsid=a1ba6ae89a426272499d25be30366759
GL450SE - http://www.bananahobby.com/1239.html

Or for about the same amount of money you can go bigger (bigger = easier):

500-class: HDX500 - http://www.helidirect.com
30-size: Hurricane 550 - Various including http://www.readyheli.com

Suprisingly the HDX500 and H550 cost the same to get into the air as a T450, their parts cost about the same (the H550 is cheaper for some common parts!) and they do not need outrageously expensive batteries or chargers. Bigger = more stable, easier to see, easier to learn, easier to fly. Worth considering.

Definately go with your Trex 450 I started with a HBCP and spent more time rebuilding than flying. Then got a
Trex 450 and a 600N Pro. But the best thing you can do is get a good simulator. RealFlight G3.5, Phoenix or
FS One. I have been spending lots of time in the sim and I am finally starting to get comfortable with my
hovering.

One other piece of advice, joing your local flying club. Find someone who will buddy box with you and get
some quality stick time in.

Best of luck!

I started on a BCPP. Get a t-rex. You will be much happier with it.
