What a *****, sorry to hear that ******, on her 1st flights too.
By the way i'm one of the few ppl who thinks the Mars looks really good, i love the look of it, one of the uglyest helis or should i say heli canopy's around i think is the Logo canopy's.
But you logo guys dont bother defending it to me :...: , as my next & one and only big heli will most likely be a Logo ! :banana
But yeah the Mars looks really nice, and futuristic looking, that latest pic from John is great the way the background is all B&W, good job
Peace

Yea, the canopy really needs to be painted too on the Mars so I can see it better. I just didn't want to make another mess painting again.
It will be better when I get a Trex 500. That heli is soo HOT. I'll fly the Mars for a month or so more, then upgrade to the T500E baby!!! :YeaBaby: Then I'll be set for the rest of all next year for an electric for sure.

Funny about the Walkera #36. I was going to ask if you still had it.
I still have mine, although I do not fly it much anymore. It is ready to fly though, complete with Spektrum radio.
If I ever try night flying, I will probably use it, as it is flourescent yellow.
lol yeah it was fun Specktrumized for awhile. I wasn't going to fly it ever again I already robbed the tail. Figured let someone who needs it have it.
Flourescent yellow now that's easy to see!

I am installing the 430XL. So I am setting up on 12T 100 flat. That shows up on the calculator as 2957 but it's probably closer to 2800 huh? I don't have an 11 and I want to take it to work to fly.
My JGF500th was the problem. It's stator seperated or something the wires are loose. Massive impact can't be ruled out as a factor.

I'm having problems with the Scorpion ESC 45amp.
After I flip the throttle hold switch, throttle hold off, sometimes it will slowly turn, if I run it and go into idle up and then back down it sometimes goes away, I say sometimes because I haven't tested it enough to know if it does it 'EVERY" time. If I stay in normal mode it won't correct it'self. After I reset/re-program the throttle/esc it works right but comes back next flight. I've only had it flying maybe 6 times.
I got the HS65MGs in the mail yesterday and will put those in along with bec to run on 6v
I was told that this is not uncommon for this esc. The motor seems like it's got plenty of power but I haven't been able to get any good weather to really fly it.
Besides, I've got a 90 calling my name.......

Mitch you set - travel on the thro channel low position right? I have mine at 115.

I haven't changed the values in the radio, they are at 100%

The Scorpion ESC is wierd. Mine does the same thing. Even if I have it all the way throttle off, the motor keeps spinning the blades very slow. You have to use the throttle hold switch to stop it. But then, after a hover, it might then stop. Its for sure a wacky ESC, which BTW, I think caused my crash on the Mars 480 for not using a BEC, even though it states that it has a built in 5v/3a BEC.
I probably should of just stuck with the Align 35amp ESC in which Bert K. says is working really good for him.

Hey Rob: phone battery died and dropped call, didn't log your # and I don't have it.
Vic: Had I known the Scorpion ESC wasn't designed with the DX7 in mind I would of got something else. That is what I was told by lucien from innovative designs.
I'll have to get more info from lucien about this issue.
Ya know, I'm not one of those guys that enjoys being a beta tester, I want what I bought to work without a bunch of research and testing. PLUG & PLAY!
I don't care how it works or why it works, I just want it to work so I can fly, I want to fly not work. I get paid to work and I paid to fly.....argh! faaaakkk

It still works Mitch. We all use the throttle hold anyways when we come down for a landing. Many of the guys do an auto right before landing anyways, so for the pro's, it won't really be a problem. Though I agree, it shouldn't do what its doing.

Mitch my CC35 has to have 115 in the travel adjust:throttle channel "L VALUE" or it won't even arm. If I arm it with thold it won't turn all the way off.
Finless shows the correct way to setup the travel in his CC85HV video. He is using gov mode but that makes no difference to this subject.

I've got an "Otter 35amp esc" that I think I paid less than 30bux for, maybe I should try that????? :bomb:
Vic: It IS a problem! It should work right, PERIOD! :arggg:
Lucien has been very cool and helpfull and I hate to go off about this but for near 80 bux, it should work right.
I'll talk to him and see if he knows of a fix.

Send it back and demand a refund dude. The Align 35amp ESC works just as good.

Yea, that was the whole reason I originally upgraded.

Mitch,
To save time just go to travel adjust and try 115 in the L position for throttle channel. That's all the video gets to basically. If that's the fix then go watch how he dertimined 115 was the right amount.
It is this one:
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=36194
First video there talks about setting travel *I think*. The rest get into governor mode.

Trying to work on my helicopter after work doesn't work out. I am dog tired and don't even feel like packing it in the car now.
Also my CC35 is acting funny. It is doing the ping ping ping noise before it starts but I know my solder joings are good. This is what my CC10 did before smoke rolled out of it. I think I will send it in.
