Manual for the C-Spec pumped:

Also, when you get your header tank plumbed, I'd be interested to know what you do with your fuel return line from the carb. I'm thinking I can just keep it going to the main tank like it is, but I'm not certain thats right when a header tank is in the equation.

It tee's in like diagram 2, doesn't return to tank and one/bottom outlet to main tank is plugged off.

Goes from header tank instead of main tank.\

Thanks for the link, very much appreciatied.

Sending the fuel return to a tee increases the pressure coming from the pump, and makes the setup more sensitive to needle settings. That could cause the idle issues you're experiencing.

That could be? I had it run back to the main tank but was told to run it between the header and the pump.

You could be right.

So, after I smoked the Hacker 30 amp ESC, not sure how that happens? I hooked up the Otter 35amp esc with the hobbywing voltage regulator. phhhh,,, works perfect. Just the same as the Hacker esc. I bought the Otter esc for cheap, less than 30bux and the bec was less than 10.

So for less than 40 bux I'm running on 6v with no problems. Even has governor mode...

What am I missing here?

It was nutz testing this thing in my back yard with very little light.....:YeaBaby:

The POP on the collective is impressive, 6v rocks. :whip

Seems that there are 3 official threads?

I won't respond to the ryder thread and will likely not respond to the rcg one either.

This place rocks and has given us a home that is troll free.

Thank you. :noteworthy :smokin:

The Raptor flys great, I put the stock flybar paddles back on, it's still very responsive. Ran two tanks of fuel, still doesn't like to idle but I'm not going to get too worried about it until it's broke in. The starter that came in the Thunder Tiger kit is too small to start the 91Cspec but I managed to make it work for me once, I used one from another nitro guy at the field. Can't remember what one he had but that's the one I need. Anyone that knows, chime in at any time, it's an expensive set up. Wouldn't a cordless drill work just as good? And I could use it to drill holes too. :YeaBaby:

the HackeRex works just fine with the Otter 35amp esc, it's way cheaper too. Will it fail on me? I'm going to run it til it gives me a reason not to.

Shawn: I've got the same one and need to get mine set up too.

500....ouch :bawl :)

Just ordered the Sullivan starter, and battery and adapter all I need now is the charger for the battery. Spensive!

Long, I don't really like the Basin, always really windy, I went to Whittier Narrows today and there was little to no wind and it's a LOT closer to my house. If I go fly tomorrow I'll go there.

All I have left to do to the Raptor is set up the revmax and that really isn't that hard to do I just need to do it.

It flys great, I need to get different paddles though, I wasted my money on the CY stubz from what I'm told. They make it slow, not what I had in mind at all, wish I would of known. They seemed awfully small and now I know they are and they don't work real well. That sucks! Might work better on a 50 size, hey Vic, is your flybar 4mm?

My ball links are super tight and I can't find my tool which means no bubble level before the maiden. I am just going to hover it or so the story goes... This thing from all aspects is one sweet heli. I love how easily the wires hide. By the way the Scorpion motor starts really nice. Bench test was exciting!

Hope you guys get lots of great stuff!

Shawn, check out www.modelavionics.com (http://www.modelavionics.com) they have a spreed sheet that will give you % numbers to plug into your aux2 channel based on your gearing and desired head speed. I plugged in numbers to give me desired engine speed, my motor is good for 16000 rpms max, and produces max hp at 15000.

I'm running mine at max motor rpm on one and 1000 rpm less on the other. Real easy to calibrate the revmax. Head speed of 1900 and 1800, need smaller main gear to get MY motor in it's prime HP range. 91t main on my 91 Cspec.

And btw Airboss, it is the 3.1 hp version. :YeaBaby:

I'm ready to rock 3D, just gotta sack up and do it.....

I was running 14T in governor mode and you have to don't have to manage collective too much. Some guys are pushing 15T + 100 flat with it. I am not sure why it is bogging on 13T that doesn't sound right to me. Check for the stator seperator problem, I would link you but I don't know where it is. Write Vinnie he will tell you what to do to safegaurd.

Again I have little doubt that the stator seperator problem was the end to my CC35.

You need to get a good 45 watt iron and keep good care of it, wipe the tip off frequently and don't let the iron burn up by sitting there cooking, wet sponge. I've gotten very good at soldering and make short work of anything that comes up. Preperation my brotha.
