do you know the altitude at the funfly park there? i was tuned slightly rich for sea level flying here in oc and my heli ran super fat up in tajunga. i didnt want to lean it just for 1 day so i will make my final adjustments here this saturday. get all the guys together for an invasion at Arbor, get a map going at rcgroups.

Aye aye, sir, invasion at Arbor it is!

Too bad it can't be a nitro invasion, but you can't have everything. :)

Yea, I only have two heli's now, so I have to go to places where Nitro's are allowed. Im heading up Apollo Field at the Sepulvida Basin this Saturday to fine tune my Knight 50 3D Nitro.

Seems all the SCHC guys are going loco for the new Trex 500, and three or four of them are selling off their heli's already. crazzzy.

I might get a T500E for Christmas toooo. :)

dont worry they will all sell them as quik as they can once they get flying. IMO, i think they should look to true 500 class helis and not some trex 450 with bigger blades.i had a QoJ ev 8 all tricked out and didnt like it . that was a bastard size heli 400mm same as trex 500.

Well the Quick of Japan was a heavy beast, so that why it didn't fly like you wanted. This new Trex 500 should be both light, and fast. I never did like the way the Trex 450 flew, as it was very unstable. But with 425mm blades, the Trex 500 should be easy to fly and 3D.

compared to your 50 nitro, it will be like a 450. my QoJ was light and had all the upgrades including the frames. but for some reason it is an oddball size and if set up right flies like a 450.its a battery killer.

I met Andy M. at Fairview Park early this morning with his electric gliders. I flew my USCG TRex, and he flew his Schweizer-300 TRex till it got windy (around 9-10am). We left to go our own ways after that, so I went to Arbor. The soccer kids finished practice after about a half hour, then left the field wide open. Surprisingly, it was almost dead calm at Arbor, so I flew my last two packs there. When I left (about noon), only a couple planks were flying, and no one was flying heli's. If I had more packs, I'd have flown more.

They said there's no soccer practice there Sun, so I think I'll go there tomorrow morning.

hey brent have you seen the new MD500 from align??? we did and all i can say is for once i like scale, that set up was very simple and easy to work on and was extremely light, very impressive little heli.

Only seen pictures of it. Looks impressive. If they do as nice a job as they did with their EC135 and A109, it'll be a really nice fuse. Amazing how popular that heli is, considering the prototype first flew back in 1963 as the Hughes Model 369 (OH-6). Hopefully they will do some bright civilian colors. My painting skills suck, so repainting is not something I'd want to do.

Military camo looks cool, but is not very practical for an RC model. That's why I traded my black Airwolf for the red version. Too hard to see black even though it was glossy. Flat olive-drab would be just as bad or worse.

andy from align said it will come painted, and the front half of the fuse comes off for access to the works. very neatly done out of the box.pictures were taken by finnless, do a search it may be here .

yeah, the new align MD500 that Andy flew come pre-painted american flag color scheme. battery access very easy with magnet and pole mount.. unlike the EC135 and A110.. we have to do lot of mod for easy lipo access :) . you will in love the new MD 500 once you see Brent. :) it look as big as trex 500. Andy flew it 7 - 10 mins on evo 2170 3s pack. roll/loop/.... but darn, I will fly her better if Andy let me. i will chew some grass with MD that for sure hehe JK
