He just downgraded the head to the V1 the rest of the heli is V2. Thicker frames, lower mounting boom. I am pretty sure.

I know he doesn't run the V2 because it twists the rotor core in a crash.

No, I think he just upgraded to a v2 head, because he was snapping 3mm spindles. And when Tyler was saying v1 or v2, I think he meant the version of the motor.

Oh yeah oops. Did he go back to V2 lol. Anyway yeah he is testing the -6 V2 for sure.

just for clairification, i had the old v2 gray head and since i put my new v2 scoprion -6 in, i had snapped a few 3mm spindals in air, well actually 1 but it was enough for me to get the new v2 head no questions asked. tons of power, maybe too much power. i have the -8 which i think may be suited better for me. i flew mitches helicopter the other day with the setup and i loved it more than mine.

one problem im dealing with though, why do i keep on bending main hubs. ever single crash i have and on soft grass, i bend the main hub. i had a small tip over from a high auto rotation when i landed, surely enough, i bent the main hub. i know people that crash 50 times more than i do and mostly on cement, and they just replace main shaft and feathering shaft and no vibrations, they are good to go. any comments?

The only three factors period Jason:

Quality of blades
Tightness of blades
Head speed

I run woodies and have 25+ crashes and no bent parts!

I just got off the phone with HOrizon Hobby because I was considering running my setup without a BEC. They said no way don't do it run a BEC. Per Randy from Horizon Hobby support. I even told him I was running all analog servos!

If you are running an ARxxxx series receiver run a BEC. Can't say you weren't warned!

Jason, I'm having some of the same problems you are on my Medusa, they seem to be related to the head speed. Everytime I spin that thing up, I encounter a new problem. I've slowed the headspeed down due to problems with the boom vibrating, caused by imbalances in the tail assembly until I balance the entire tail assy. I've also destroyed tail bearings twice, both times on the bearings' first flight. Tail blades have exploded 3 times. I think I'm going to have to change the gearing on the tail drive to slow the tail down.
Blades being tight would most likely cause additional stress on the headblock in a crash too.

I got the CopterX200 today and all the stuff for it but I don't want to run a BEC due to weight...

I might run my Trex 450 SE V2 with the stock Align 35 ESC and no bec. If I crash to a lockout I will be very angry at me though.

Couple pics of the kit, I bought spektrum servos and an AR6000, will use the Airtronics 94671 w/Logitec 2100 gyro, and it seems I"ll need a bec too.

It is very small and the blades are flimsy as hell, need carbon blades asap.

Those DSP75 are digital and can run on 6v, they don't list a spec @ 6v but if everything being equal to other servos it should be .08 on 6v, crap, I want to try these in a Trex 450, I think they could be a really good choice at $19.99
