Ok, cool. :smokin:

Alright, that's it, it's up to the collective group to find a field ASAP. :)

Get Hovig to contact the Santa Fe Dam club and see if we can work something out, we have a bunch of people and it will mean money for their club.

Something like this: Members of course will be able to fly no charge, non members pay a $5 fee to fly for the day, that is about what it costs on average per membership per weekend. $120 first year membership cost/by 52 weeks....

Not like the stupid RR crap of paying $20 bux to fly at the LA spastic.....

This is doable at Santa Fe Dam, hell, point me in the right direction.......

The reason for that is because your second year is prorated depending on when you first joined. I'm guessing you joined shortly after the middle of 2007.

Yup. :lolol

No charge on weekends. Guys, if we can get my local field it would be great. Much better than Whittier and Apollo IMO There is also a real nice heli pad. I couldn't find a pic though

That looks like it's out in the Desert Shawn?

My .02 is that Santa Fe Dam is a perfect place for SCHC.

I'll bow out at this point and let the thread take it's natural course. :noteworthy

I also like Santa Fe Dam. That's as easy of traffic for me as old SCHC field. I think it is golden let's try and hook it up yeah?

Ok so I have to go and join up with that flying field? This field can be my field when it's windy here too which is always. I will get AMA this Thursday.

Got my Sky Shark dialed in. Then I went on to put my 300 FP back together using the Walkera 36 TX+RX. That was quite a project because I had to beat the 3.17mm shaft out of a cheap motor and put the 2.3mm shaft in. Got it all together just need to level out the swash and play with the tail again. No gain at the radio so old school.

I was thinking I will put together one of my 3 DF4 helis and that will make 4 helis I have in my fleet! Not bad for a two time dad in just over a year flying.

Still need a motor and skids for the Trex though.. I might dismantle the Sky Shark and bring the Trex back. It's my thrasher that I don't care if I crash and I miss it.

Just do it online at https://www.modelaircraft.org/joinrenew.aspx

After you register, just print out your temporary AMA card right from the site.

I'm still debating on which servo's to get for it. Which servo's you getting Peter?

U guys really push me to buy myself a 500. Should I? I'm thinking of getting a 450 rather than a 500.

I put 2 gallons of unknown nitro fuel through my Synergy while I was in Vietnam (could not find any coolpower there) and man, it really harmed my engine. The engine ran hot and the piston got scratched and burned. it just lost the power and I found out the problem yesterday. I'm rebuilding it right now.

If the weather is nice this weekend we can have a meeting at Whitter Narrows.

So Sunday meeting at Whitter, who else is going?

I'm gonna use the Hitec 5245MG's. I don't need to get all crazy with servos n stuff. The 5245's are gonna be perfect for me. :)

Yea, I plan on flying Saturday at Whittier. Last time I flew on Sunday, I was sooo tired on Monday for work!! LOL.

Those Hitec servo's seem pretty good Peter. I was looking at those too. There's one other Hitec I'm looking at also.

You guys going to hook up A123 Walmart batteries? Think that's the direction I will go.

I am not going to buy a Trex 500 until they have the metal support blocks in the frame and the metal upgrade pieces all in one kit. If they take 50 years to do it I will get another 500 class heli.

Still debating the nitro but it's so much stuff to buy...

brovic777
01-28-2008, 02:47 PM
Yea, with a Nitro, you need at least around $1500 to get started, unless you buy a used kit.
