I have a Futaba 401 on my Mini-Titan. I has worked fine earlier, but after I rebuilding the heli I can't get a steady light on initiation. I have tried to reverse the "Gear" channel, but no result. The strange thing is that when I hit "trottle hold" or "idle up" I get a stedy light, but not on "normal". I have a 72 % gain for both positions of the "Gear" switch on my DX7 radio. What am I doing wrong?

Your gyro shouldn't be tied to your Idle-up/normal switch. You don't want to switch off heading hold when you go into Idle Up. I have a DX6 so I'm not sure how to do it in yours, but I go into setup mode and then apply it to another switch on the tx. I used my left D/R switch since the DX6 seems to be short on switches, lol, and I don't use D/R anyways. Then I think you should just have to reverse the channel. Anyways that's my 2 cents. I'm not sure if it'll work, or if it's completely right since I'm fairly new, but that's what I've done previously on my TREX and it worked! BTW, 72% gain is pretty high! I have mine down to 38-40% on my TREX.

Good luck

your statement that the light goes solid entering idleup or hold makes the issue pretty evident: You have entered trim or subtrim on the rudder channel.
Go find what and where, it's only in normal mode so the search should be quick.

Check your gyro sense menu (if you're using it) and verify that all flight modes are set to 0 and your heading hold gain is set for the 0.

During assembly/repair it's common to re-map these to allow you to setup the gyro in rate mode so you can center the slider. It's common to forget to put these setting back to flight ready.

Thank you guys. Wayne was right. I had a little trim on the rudder. I feel I learn something new every day.
