I am trying to program a throttle cut switch on my 7C to use with my CX and CPP. I think I followed the manual but apparently not. I have the "A" switch programmed and then programmed the throttle to 0% in that sub menu - but no results.

Any ideas?

Why would you want a Throttle cut for the BCP PRO or CX?
unless you have added an autorotation setup...

When I am putting down or picking up the heli, and for some reason the throttle on the transmitter gets bumped.

place your thumb on the stick and hold in the down position...

Thank you for letting me know that.

You can program the throttle hold switch for 0% to accomplish what you're looking to do. Of course this is assuming that you're not using it for hover throttle, etc. A drawback to this is that it also kills pitch control so it doesn't let you do autos, but it is safe to move.

Do not confuse!

Throttle Hold is used for cutting the motor (something like a 0-0-0-0-0 throttle curve) so that you can practice autos, setup, cool landings etc. Basicly by the hit of a switch the throttle stick only operates channel 6 instead of mixing 6 and 3. On a glow heli you go to idle...

Throttle Cut is a function that is usually put on a 'coming-back switch' (like the trainer one) and outputs a lower value than the lowest stick position output with a set rate. And it is used for stopping glow engines by completely closing the carburetor (if properly set). Usually used on planks. For example: You have a engine idle-ing with the stick at the lowest position, and to turn it you should go lower than that position. You dont want to set up so ypu kill the engine when putting the throttle stick down, instead you use the Throttle Cut to that.

Thanks - that makes sense. I have been trying with the CUT function rather than HOLD.

Understood, but not confused. The throttle cut doen't work on an ESC like on a carb. Even at 0 throttle, with throttle cut set to the lowest setting, throwing the switch causes the motor to run. If you're willing to give up autos the throttle hold is the only way to disable ESC power that I've found.

If some one can tell us how to set up throttle cut to actually cut power to an ESC, I'd like to know and would certainly use it..

You could use it to have a little powered RPM in the rotor to help. And with the th-cut you have it all stopped. But as the esc auto calibrates on start you will need to have the th-cut on when starting, and some RC's don not allow mixes on when starting RC.
So.. Rubbish!

Running an ESC on a heli in auto calibrate mode is foolish, since you can't go to full throttle for 2 seconds at lift-off to properly set the upper limit anyway! So with fixed end-points, you turn the TX on, throw the throttle hold switch and then connect the battery........ the ESC will still arm and everything! Not too tough!

Soooo, not rubbish!

i was talking about a little bit of rpm in th-hold(to help in autos), and stop in th-hold + th-cut on a electric. Which is useless...why would you wanna use rpm in autos...

You wouldn't want to. All I was saying is that if you use the th-hold to kill the throttle you also loose pitch control... so you just can't have it both ways like with a normal th-hold config. Like I said, I wish I could get th-cut to work on mine so th-hold would be available.
